A black-and-white photo of a person mid-air in a Superman-style body suspension pose, supported by multiple hooks in their back and legs, smiling joyfully toward the camera. They are suspended horizontally in a large indoor space with high ceilings and visible rigging. A group of onlookers—some seated, some standing—watch with expressions of admiration, amusement, and support. The atmosphere is lively and communal, capturing a moment of shared experience and transformation.

Another beautiful non-standard kavadi

Since I posted the 47-spear prone kavadi, I’d like to also share Dust‘s first kavadi, a seated kavadi, by Chandler and Flo at Villa Vendex in Maastricht.

The swastika rigging just adds to the peacefulness.
It’s weird, because before some of these modblog pictures, I haven’t really ben interested in Kavadi (even with previous snooping on the subject), but that was a while ago, and now I am wanting to try it.

swastikas have been symbols of life and the sun and eternity and plenty else in almost every nation since pre BC… left-facing swastikas like this one (from the kavadi-ee’s point of view) are sacred in hindu culture.

yeah, and this is just gorgeous.
