Since I posted the 47-spear prone kavadi, I’d like to also share Dust‘s first kavadi, a seated kavadi, by Chandler and Flo at Villa Vendex in Maastricht.

The swastika rigging just adds to the peacefulness.
It’s weird, because before some of these modblog pictures, I haven’t really ben interested in Kavadi (even with previous snooping on the subject), but that was a while ago, and now I am wanting to try it.

swastikas have been symbols of life and the sun and eternity and plenty else in almost every nation since pre BC… left-facing swastikas like this one (from the kavadi-ee’s point of view) are sacred in hindu culture.
