A black-and-white photo of a person mid-air in a Superman-style body suspension pose, supported by multiple hooks in their back and legs, smiling joyfully toward the camera. They are suspended horizontally in a large indoor space with high ceilings and visible rigging. A group of onlookers—some seated, some standing—watch with expressions of admiration, amusement, and support. The atmosphere is lively and communal, capturing a moment of shared experience and transformation.

SLUT tattoo

My feeling is that if you’re able to see the tattoo, you are either aware of the fact, or you’d rather not know if you don’t already. In any case, this one is by Josh at East Looe Tattoo in the UK. I realize it’s not the forehead, but I wonder how people feel about this in relation to the largely denounced STUPID tattoo — this is certainly visible in, for example, a bathing suit.

PS. This is not the first time I’ve posted tattooed sluts.

I like how she has that blue temporary bracelet that’s given out at concerts, parties, raves and conventions. I hope its because she was at a tattoo convention… otherwise there is no doubt she’s under the influence of SOMETHING. …. although im sure tattoo conventions can get their fair share of drugs and alcohol going around palms down.

I think every tattoo convention I’ve been at serves alcohol (not that I’m suggesting any reputable artist would tattoo anyone drunk at a convention).

My question is: Why announce it?

It must be a point of great pride on her part.

She might identify as a riot grrrl, or simply as a feminist who is reclaiming the word and enjoying her sexuality.

Of course that is just speculation, but either way, I love it!

Also, just because she is wearing that bracelet, doesn’t mean its recent, it could be from last week or last month, and even if it is recent, it doesn’t mean she is under the influence.

Last time I checked getting drunk/high isn’t a prerequisite to going to a concert or convention (although it helps :P)

Just coz she’s wearing an event band doesn’t mean she’s there. I wear those things till they fall off most of the time. I only took one off last week from a concert I went to back in May. And just because someone’s at a concert doesn’t mean they’re under the influence of something. At said concert in May, I drank a litre of water, and that was the only thing I had in the whole day. Just because she’s a self-proclaimed slut, don’t make assumptions on the state she was in.

Not everyone gets messed up at concerts … and why not take pride in it, if it’s not just a joke? We still don’t accept that women can (and should) love sex. That tattoo could be sociopolitical. Although, if I had it, it would be primarily sexual; the word “slut” and any kind of potential humiliation are very powerful for me. See? I don’t even know the girl, and there are about three possible reasons to announce it right there.

What if she had it on her forehead? What would people say THEN?

for the most part i live my life not caring what others think of me and so should you… obviously yer opening yerself up to the criticism of the masses when getting such a tattoo in such a visible area but there is give and take with every situation… if we all lived by what others thought, we would all look pretty bland and be even more homogenous than we already are… these are the people that give life that speacial something… and apparently, she likes to give back too.. haha… meow

personally, I think its unique. I have plans for alot of sexually oriented tattoos and slut may be in my future as well. If you know what you are..why not embrace it..

The bracelet’s from the Download Festival, and I don’t think there were any tattooists working there.

Maybe she’s proud of being a slut. I know a lot of girls who would claim pride in their sexual freedom. I went through a “slut phase” and while I didn’t tattoo a memento of it onto my thigh, I also talk about it without any shame whatsoever.

I love how her tattoo says “slut”, yet she’s being careful about draping some extra cover over her girly bits.

  21. Whitney Avatar

This reminds me of a tattoo experience I read a few years ago about a girl who had ‘slut’ tattooed across her pubic mound. Turns out she had been verbally abused by her mother for years and was taking back the term that had caused her so much pain. Just because you can’t figure out the meaning behind a stranger’s tattoo doesn’t mean there isn’t one.

(Interesting side note- her tattoo artist initially refused to do it but changed his mind when she explained the significance behind the design).

hi , yes the bracelet is from download and no we didnt do the tattoo at the festival . i did it in my mates lounge and nobody was under the influence of anything ! i asked her a number of times if she was sure before i did the tattoo but she was determined . its just a jokey kind of nickname theres nothing deep or meaningful about it , its just a bit of a laugh

Wow, that totally justifies it. I hope she’s laughing in ten years. You and her are BOTH morons.

I think everyone is reading into this tattoo a bit too much..it hasn’t got some deep meaning behind..as josh said it is just a jokey nickname..(i should know..I am the girl in questions boyfriend, and have also had a ‘jokey’ tattoo done by josh)
Tattooing is so mainstream now that you cant tell what a person is like just from a tattoo..i know plenty of people..including myself..that have tattoos just because they like the experience of getting them and like the way they look rather than having some deep meaning behind them..
