A black-and-white photo of a person mid-air in a Superman-style body suspension pose, supported by multiple hooks in their back and legs, smiling joyfully toward the camera. They are suspended horizontally in a large indoor space with high ceilings and visible rigging. A group of onlookers—some seated, some standing—watch with expressions of admiration, amusement, and support. The atmosphere is lively and communal, capturing a moment of shared experience and transformation.

Bruce Potts ROCKS!

Best school teacher ever? I don’t know, because I never took a class under him. But coolest ex-teacher ever? Definitely. And thus he gets to stay at the top of ModBlog until I get back from Carlilse and NYC! Anyway, go say hello to Bruce over at IAM:tribalface and meet one of the most remarkable men in this community with one of the wildest look (that he had to wait until he retired to get).

Paperflowers – The article I read says: Bruce Potts teaches Public Speaking. He got his first tattoo in 1968 during a stint in the Navy and decided after retiring from teaching in public schools that he wanted to get his head and face done as well. He said it took about three and a half months to complete.
“I have been wanting to do it ever since I was 12 years old,” he said. “It’s almost like I feel it was a right of passage.”

The fact that this man is teaching tolerance is simply amazing. I’d love to take a course or two from him! I admire his resistance to societal norms. I work in a law office and am compelled to hide my tats. But the beauty is I just keep getting more & more and no one is any wiser…

What are most of these people applauding here? a guy got a end-life crisis tattoo. congrats for him. Who gives a shit? it’s slick i give the artist that drew it some credit.
ANd the people that think this kind of crap doesn’t influence someones personal career never dealt with the professional world in their life…i don’t give a shit, but that makes me the other 5%.
He can survive/hibernate in a liberal school for the rest of his life…that’s fine. but the rest of the professional population that exists on this planet and not in a culture-dome will not take this man seriously for one second. sorry.

I met Bruce in 1997 in Long Beach, CA. Bruce you referred me to Crystal at Points of Light. I have talked with you since, but I don’t think I ever told you that I loved you from the moment I met you. You called me a sweet spirit, noone ever had before. You are an incredible human being and have much to be happy for! You are loved and I thank you for your help from the bottom of my heart. You are so right on! Bless you always!

You’re my hero. That looks like it was painfull espically around your eyes and ears. yet soo cool. I espically like the multiple peircings but if you’re gonna stretch your lobe that much you should put the spacer in (it soesn’t look like one is in there and your right, pictures left ear looks stretched from this angle)
