A black-and-white photo of a person mid-air in a Superman-style body suspension pose, supported by multiple hooks in their back and legs, smiling joyfully toward the camera. They are suspended horizontally in a large indoor space with high ceilings and visible rigging. A group of onlookers—some seated, some standing—watch with expressions of admiration, amusement, and support. The atmosphere is lively and communal, capturing a moment of shared experience and transformation.

“All this pain is just an illusion”

Here is Jenna‘s scarification by Jason Odd at Modern Epic in Hood River, Oregon (at about two days). Sort of a variant on fear is the mind killer?

It sounds similar to a line from a Tool song: “We are eternal, all this pain is an illusion”

Yeah, I instantly thought of the Tool song(s) (Parabol/Parabola) when I saw this. I really like it!

It is inspired by parabola. I like the phrase better with “just” in there. This is something I tell myself when i am feeling down. This is also for a friend of mine that just passed away due to cancer.
