A black-and-white photo of a person mid-air in a Superman-style body suspension pose, supported by multiple hooks in their back and legs, smiling joyfully toward the camera. They are suspended horizontally in a large indoor space with high ceilings and visible rigging. A group of onlookers—some seated, some standing—watch with expressions of admiration, amusement, and support. The atmosphere is lively and communal, capturing a moment of shared experience and transformation.

Patchwork Heart Tattoo

A little while back I posted Selena’s patchwork heart with sparrows tattoo. I wanted to share another one here that I quite liked (and no, it’s not just because I’m a total sucker for tattoos in this location on pretty girls), by Keith at Red Lantern, in San Diego, CA. Each of the different patches represents a different influence — or heartbreak — in her life.

uh…is that her chin in the upper left hand corner? if so, it appears as though she’s one of those “butter face” girls i’ve heard so much about.

Heh — never heard the term butterface. I’ve always used “brown bagger” to mean the same thing (ie: put a bag on the person’s face). If they’re really bad, then they are a “double bagger,” which actually just sounds sexual now that I think about it…

I can’t seem to view Benjii’s page. Is it because i’m not a member of IAM? I’d like to see your tattoo. 😛

I’d really like it if everyone would stop calling this person, who’s face you cant even see, a butterface. even if it turns out to be a not attractive face, its not very kind of any of you to be saying such things. please, grow some maturity and talk about what this post is about, and thats the tattoo. which i love, and i love how representative it is of people in her life. and the color work is fantastic.

I second that kuroneko. It’s kind of ironic that a couple of these same people were just complaining about too many pretty skinny girls being posted on modblog, and now everyone’s talking about imperfection.

    mm nice one,

not saying she is a ‘butterface’ but where i live (syd, aust) we call them a prawn – you rip their heads off and they’re all good.

What an awesome tattoo, I love it! It’s very much like something I’d get… 🙂

(But I won’t, since it’s already taken, I’ll have to think up a new idea!)
