Long before the advent of "the scene," when the monroe piercing was still pretty uncommon I suddenly decided I needed one. I was nineteen and feeling rebellious, and my mostly liberal family that had allowed me to dye my hair whatever color I wished and dress however I liked expressly forbade facial piercings. The parlor I picked out on a whim as well. It was called Electric Circus or Masquerade or some such and was on the corner of 12 mile and Woodward if you know the area, I hear it isn't there anymore. I initially picked it because you ...

On my 18th birthday I awoke to my best friend knocking on my door saying "Get ready we're getting pierced!" I showered, got dressed, connected to the internet and immediately started browsing BME. My friend had no idea what this site was, or what it did, and I simply informed her of the just of things and told her this is where I got the idea for my vertical lobe that I had gotten done two years earlier. We decided to get facial piercings, lip piercings to be exact. I was afraid of gum erosion and "destroying my teeth" so ...

Before I did my labret I hadn't really thought about facial piercing. There was a time when I was 13 when I thought getting my eyebrow pierced would be the greatest thing that happened since radio was free, but because I have sane parents, they didn't let me. Besides that, I had never really thought about any facial modification. Satisfied, I thought, since last year when I pierced my nipple, I didn't really think I'd be getting anything else done any time soon. Which brings me to the spontaneity of it. My girlfriend and I had been wandering about Toronto ...

For my sixteenth birthday in January of 2007, I decided to get myself a present I had been wanting for about 3 years a labret piercing. Looking back now I wouldn't have gone to the studio I ended up going to, although I didn't really have any problems. After taking care of it just how I had been told my labret healed up perfectly and I was very pleased with the results. About 5 weeks after getting the labret I was itching for more, and started browsing around BME for piercing ideas, none of the facial piercings really suited ...

Around the beginning of freshman year, I had started getting into body modification. It all started when I saw a couple "scenesters" with their lips pierced and I had said "I want that." Back then, I only wanted a piercing for superficial reasons. I didn't want it to "fit it" or to "be cool." But I didn't want it because it was a part of who I was. Nowadays, I consider body modification to be a part of who I am, and I believe that nothing can ever change that. I compare it to the nature vs. nurture philosophy, body ...

It had always been my plan to get my labret done again after I had to take it out because it was slightly off center when I did it myself. The surprise was that I found a ride and was able to get it done a lot sooner than I expected. I usually have to wait at least a month after figuring out what I want to be able to get a ride to get it. I won't go through with the waiting in the lobby because it' was the exact same as it was in my other two stories. ...

About four months, well in September, I got my first piercing, a labret to the right side of my bottom lip. If I am honest, it was a brilliant introduction to piercing, was a comfortable and easy going procedure, and I loved it the moment it was done. Since then, I've only had one more; my ear, which I am carefully going about stretching at the moment, to cut down on the need for more piercings. Needless to say, it started a craving for other holes in my body, and so, as I have such an obsessive compulsive disorder about ...

My first experience with piercing was when I was a child. I was 8 years old when I finally got my first ear hole piercing. To me that was so painful. Because I never felt the pain of needles other that the doctors office. To me piercing was a forbidden art for those who are apart of the brave and strong. Years later I decided to go with the current trend and get a second ear hole piercing. I got it done at store in the mall . When I Got them done , my ears swole up like chicken ...

Ok, so I have always had a timid love for body mods.... I mean who hasn't. I am however a little cautious about getting one in a clearly visible area, so since I was about 14 I wanted to get under my tongue pierced. I thought it would be the perfect way to show my love of body mods but not really. At 15 I tried to pierce it myself and lost the hole, and thus decided I would never do it by myself again. When I finally went away to university, my roommate confessed that she wanted to get ...
