I have the piercing, but where is the pain?

For years I have wanted to get my tongue pierced, but I seem to put it off every time I get near a studio. As time went by the vertical tongue piercing grew in popularity and I kind of lost interest until a few months back. You see, I'm training to be a teacher and in that profession piercings are frowned upon. However I was itching to get another piercing. I hadn't decided what to get though so I looked through what seemed like a million pictures and reviews and found quite a few that I wanted. In the end ... read more

Getting my tongue pierced

After getting my lip re-pierced, I wanted to get my tongue pierced, too. I thought about the consequences and the risks of tongue piercings, and decided to go through with getting my tongue pierced. I even asked some of my friends and my new girlfriend what it was like, as she also had her tongue pierced. They said that it did not hurt at all. I believed them, and I was going to take it like a man and get it done after school. After school that day, I went down to Lefty's, I waited for Johnny, the piercer, to ... read more

Tongues, anyone?

I'd never really wanted a tongue piercing up until a few months ago. Really, I didn't see much appeal to them. Didn't find them attractive whatsoever and thought it would just not suit me. So that was alright, I went on without one though my (few)years of modifying- and proving basically anyone ever seeing me and the rest of my facial piercings wrong, in their assumptions that I would be the one to have my tongue pierced. It was actually BME's gallery that started the change in my mind of 'no' to 'maybe'. I'd seen venoms. Liked them quite a ... read more

Ice and Ibuprofen

I had been toying with the idea of a tongue piercing for years, but typically I'd always had some sort of excuse. Finally, a convenient time occurred, that being my A-Level study leave (using the term 'study' loosely here). I thought this was as good a time as any, as I could afford to be a social recluse for a few days while I mastered the art of speech with an abnormally large tongue. Of course I had heard all the horror stories, and been informed that I would probably get cancer/septicaemia/all manner of diseases. However I chose to ignore ... read more

Tongue Piercing

I have been thinking of getting my tongue pierced now for around 2 years, I mentioned it to my mum around then and she was very against the idea, and although I was 18 at the time i still decided to wait to be sure it was what I wanted. Now 20, and still very tempted, I decided to go for it when my best friend said she wanted hers done, and we agreed to go together. We went to a tattoo and piercing shop in our local area with a very good reputation. We didn't know anyone who had ... read more

His and hers tongue studs

My first and only mod (so far) is a center tongue piercing. My wife and I decided to both get it done. But we waited a week in between getting it done so at least one of us could talk if the phone rang. It was a spur of the week kind of thing. We do a lot of things together on a whim. We met online, married in 10 months in Jamaica on the beach. It is still a bit of a shock to myself that I have a tongue stud. I hate needles. Hate them. I hate pain ... read more

successful tongue piercing on small tongue- highly recommended!

I got my center tongue piercing yesterday. After mentioning it to my parents about a month ago, they were dismissive and thought it was a bad idea. However, I knew that if I went ahead and got it, they would be disapproving but wouldn't make me take it out. So yesterday was my best friend's birthday, and she had decided to get her nose pierced. We went together to Eclipse in Camden Town. I had checked the web site out and it looked professional, and I had called up to check the age limit, which was 16 for any piercing. ... read more

getting my tongue pierced

Today I finally got my tongue pierced. Yay!!! Im so happy. The main reason I really wanted it was to face my fear. I know that might sound dumb but I'm that kind of person. If something scares me I do it. Plus I used to think they were really cool. I still think they are pretty cool. But I got it mainly to prove it to myself that I could. I was going to get it about 6 months ago, but my mum said I had to wait until the holidays, and I couldn't get it done by myself ... read more

Small tongue but still worth it!

I got my tongue pierced about 6 weeks ago at Cold Steel in Camden. Getting my tongue pierced was a long time coming. I remember wanting to get it pierced at age 19 right after I got my naval pierced. Although I really wanted one, I was 1) too afraid of the pain; 2) afraid of what my mom would do (kill me) if she saw it; and 3) afraid of the skill and expertise I would have to develop to hide it from my work colleagues. So I decided against it at that age. I remember each year that ... read more

Center Tongue Piercing

One day, I decided I wanted to get my tongue pierced. I dont really know why, but for some reason the way it looked, and how much my mom hated the idea of it made me want it. Of course I was extremely nervous. Im not afraid of the pain, because through other experiences with piercings, the pain is quick and doesnt last long. But I was nervous nonetheless. I headed out with two friends to the piercing place. I chose to go there because i had heard good things, and the shop is very clean, and everyone there is ... read more
