The first time I saw a smiley piercing was on a girl at the pub I had just started working at. My initial reaction was to wonder who on earth would want one of those? The more I thought about it though, the more I realised just how beautiful it was, and so personal too! No one need know it was there if you don't want them too. So I headed on over to bme and looked at some of the uploaded photos. I gradually realised that this would be my next piercing. After reading up on the risks though, ...

I hadn’t really thought about piercing anything other than my ears. Not by ignorance of all the cool piercings out there; rather that I didn’t feel that anything else would suit me. I like the cartilage piercings and have a reasonably elaborate plan for my ears, which I am slowly realising one piercing at a time. I am very measured and deliberate with my piercings; considering each one carefully for quite some time before committing. This means I only get about one a year; which frustrates my piercer-friend greatly. Almost every time we meet up he asks when he’ll be ...

Fairy tale? I call it a fairy tale because like every Cinderella story, there are the bad moments and the bad guys followed by a perfect ending. This is exactly what happened to my tongue web getting pierced! It was a long time ago (in 2006), I wanted to get pierced and back then I was only 16 years old and I needed my parents’ approval... Or did I? Fortunately for me, I was in a country where no laws are obeyed (Lebanon). So I went to one of the many tattoo / piercing shops that allowed people at any ...

I’ve already had my earlobes done at the age of 12, then my helix at 18 and my eyebrow at 21. As I got my Eyebrow Piercing, my dad almost kicked me out. I had almost finished my apprenticeship and was about to start my new job at his office (for we work together with our customers every day and he thinks the dislike piercings and tattoos as he does). So I had to stop for a moment with visible piercings. After a while I got my nipples pierced like I was a dependant to my piercing obsession. When they ...

About a year and a half ago, I became obsessed with piercings. I would browse BME all the time, reading stories and looking at all the pictures. At the time, I had two standard lobe piercings on each ear, and a belly button piercing (which went horribly wrong, by the way, but I'll save that for another stoy). Now, my parents were quite strict, and only just allowed me to get my second lobes done the year before (and the belly button was done without their permission), but I really wanted to get a new piercing. I was a bit ...

So I’m a nurse. I also love piercings. These two facets of my personality don’t always see eye to eye. I love getting interesting new piercings but I’m running out of creative spots to hide them for work. I’d heard of web piercings before and figured they’d be easily hidden. I already had a center tongue piercing that I had stretched to a 6 gauge. I have a small mouth so I wasn’t sure how much room I had under my tongue for a sublingual. So I decided on an upper lip frenum piercing (otherwise known as a smiley). Again ...
