Is that a straw?

s were first pierced when I was very young, against my will, I assume, because my parents wanted to pierce they're daughter's ears. I don't really understand why parents do this. My baby ears were gunned at the mall, and needless to say, they were constantly bloody and infected. No fun at all. So my parents let them close up (I was too young to make any of my own decisions). When I was in second grade, I decided that I wanted them pierced again, so my mom took me to the mall (big no-no right there) and I got ... read more

eople are way into getting unusual piercings, and I was mainly concerned with getting a really wacky one, but also one that didn't have a lot of dangers associated with it. I didn't even really know much about conch piercings until I saw my good friend's one. It was really awesome. For some reason, this piercing is pretty rare compared to other one's I've seen. I can't imagine puncturing a hole in one's tongue and possible killing some nerves or whatever, but this one didn't seem too dangerous. And for about 4 years I've wanted tragus piercings, but I had ... read more

The rook and my tounge fantasies

m the typical 15 year old female. I wanna be different. For years now I've wanted to get my tounge pierced bad. I kept asking and asking my mother if she would let me and she would say,"Hell no!" Those exact words. Well one day I finally had the money ($50) and I had one of my 18 year old friends take me to the Hip Pocket. I went with another friend also. We got there and I signed the papers and everything. She read my name and said my stepdad had been in there a couple of days before ... read more

Tragus Infection

t friend at university was going through a tough time because she had just broken up with her boyfriend of one year. In order to get back at him, she wanted to get the navel piercing that he had always asked her to get. I think she really wanted it too. So I wanted to go with her, and I had been thinking about getting my tragus pierced. I think it looks really unique. I had my cartilage at the top of my ear pierced with a gun a few years ago, which didn't work out because of infection, so ... read more

My Deertag

my beloved deertag, my favorite piercing. I live in Louisville, Kentucky, and let me tell you, not much happens here!! Piercings are for freaks or those who wish to stay unemployed for a while. I like being different and unusual. Since I was 12 I've wanted to be impaled by a piercer's hand and cover my body with silver adornments. I have a few holes in my both of my earlobes but I wanted something better. Unfortuantely, I am only 16, so whatever piercings I have wanted to get have to go through my mom. I have probably tried every ... read more

From my sister's nose to my ear.....

ter decided that she was FINALLY going to get her nostril pierced. She's been wanting to do it for a long time, but being in a fairly conservative job never actually took the plunge. And neither of us are kids -- she's 38, and I'm 41. She had been in the shop last weekend with a friend who was buying a new nose stud, and decided that this would be the weekend. Of course, I jumped at the chance to go with her and watch her get pierced. I have a bunch of piercings myself -- 19 as of right ... read more

Rook? Where's that?

rcings have been (as for a lot of people) marks of milestones in my life. Ears at 10, second holes at 13, third at 16, bellybutton after high school graduation. After each one, even before all the pain was gone, all I was thinking was where to get the next one. I recently ended a very long, very abusive relationship, and the first thing I thought about after moving out and moving on was how to mark the occasion. I really want a tongue ring, but with my job (I work for a VERY well known coffee company - the ... read more

Wonderous Variety. rook, tragus and orbital

een reading BME for a while now and a couple of months ago posted a story about my tongue piercings. The articles and pictures have inspired me to get various things pierced and now I'm writing to tell you all the story of my ears. It all started when I was 10 when begged my parents to let me have my ears pierced. they finally said OK and took me to some posh hairdressers to get them done. No problem, no pain, no blood. It wasn't until a few years later that I decided I wanted more. I was only ... read more

How to Hide a Rook

eryone! My name is Jenn and I have my ears pierced 8 times (7 are lobes and 1 is a rook), both of my nipples pierced and my navel pierced twice (one at 11:00 and 1:00). I also have a tattoo of a ladybug on my lower back that was done by Ed at Jim's Tattoo in Seabrooke, NH. My parents are not into the whole piercing "thing" and so, if I want to get through college, I have to have hideable piercings. This is why I decided to write about my rook, which I can almost completely hide. I ... read more

my self ear piercings

rst time I got my ears pierced, I was about 4 or 5 or older. I got it done with a gun at the hospital or something and my parents said I was crying. Which I dont really remember concidering im so younge. After having my ears pierced for a couple years I took out the earrings and never put them back in, and the holes never closed up.
