All I want for Christmas is....an industrial!?
Finally, Christmas time, and what do I want? An industrial piercing, of course! My mom agreed with it, and of course she wasn't much into piercings but she was fine. When I came right out of school, I walked to the tattoo place with my mother and she got all the papers she needed to sign and stuff. I was freaked, now. What if it started bleeding crazy? Or if the pain hurts a lot more, since I'm younger then most of these people who got them already? I already have my upper cartilage pierced, and I felt nothing, so I would just keep thinking that it would hurt a bit more, since it was two piercings. I wouldn't tell my mom I was freaking out, though, she would stop and make me wait another day or so! No, I want it now! Piercings are the most best things in the world to get and to do, everyone should at least get one thing.
Well, I just got my industrial done less then a couple hours ago, and I couldn't be happier. I am 13 years old and I've been reading many of these stories, saying how much it hurts like a mofo, and these people were like, in their 20's, so of course I was freaking out. I just kept telling myself it would be over soon, and if any pain comes, keep it in. But, how I am so young, and saying it didn't hurt at all should mean something. Industrial piercings are the most prettiest things ever, it's really worth it.
I was very nervous walking into the place, because I was thinking over and over again on how it was gunna hurt, and the people were very nice, explaining to me what they were gunna do and stuff. My heart was beating rapidly, knowing how bad this was gunna hurt.
He told me to take a deep breath in, and poof. I felt NOTHING. A little burn, maybe. But nothing like "ITS LIKE A KNIFE WENT THROUGH ME". He then got his stuff ready for the 2nd piercing, and the burning was already gone after he was ready to do it. He asked if I was ready for the second piercing, and I was. I just wanted to see the final piece to this, my friend was surprised I didn't scream of agony yet, but they didn't even numb it, and I didn't even feel it go through. My mom was surprised, too. She knew me the best, and she said I wasn't very good with pain, but I didn't even wince once, it was good.
Take another deep breath in he told me, and poof! It was done again. It didn't hurt at all either, again with a burning. How he did it was, he pierced the needle through the first hole, but the jewelry in then pierced the second hole and put the rest of the jewelry in. Of course, it bled a little. But it was nothing, a scratch from my cat did a lot more blood then it. And this is coming from someone who cried when I fell off my bike and hates shots, still :P.
He asked if it hurt I said not at all, and he said, "I told you, it was nothing." He was very helpful and kind, which made it better. After it was done though, it got tangled by my hair, and that was the pain I would never want again, but in the end, it didn't hurt much, maybe a 5/10, and the piercing is amazing, so I would do it again. The pain afterward is more bad then actually getting it done, you can't sleep on that side, it burns, and you can't get your hair near it, or it would be like Hell, seriously. And if you clean it just like what it says, you'll be fine. It won't hurt, and you'd have a beautiful piercing! I was very unsure about this at first, but I wasn't going to chicken out, because then I couldn't say that I did give it a try. But please, don't be unsure about getting this piercing just because it hurts. It really doesn't. If you had your upper ear pierced, and that was nothing, this shouldn't feel that bad, either. And this is coming from someone in 8th gr ade. My ear isn't even red anymore, it looks perfect. So would yours, too.
If you have any questions, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll get back to you as soon as possible, because I believe whoever wants an industrial should get one! They're so pretty, and even though theres a bit pain, it's so worth it afterwards. Look what you have to show to your other friends and family now!
