Industrial @ Pleasurable NJ

ef = "/cgi-bin/vote/votec.cgi?/pierce/01-ear/990801/earind3.html">

I am 15 years old, and never had anything pierced before. My

parents are really super conservative, and would never let me get anything pierced. They almost flipped on me when I dyed me hair red without telling them. After being a pain in the ass long enough, they finally gave in and said I could get my ear pierced when I was 16. There plan was to try to put it off long enoughso i would forget, but when the time came around, I remembered.

I had wanted an industrial for quite some time now, but my mom (the

more conservative of the the 2) would not let me get 2 holes. Finally after hours of debate, my dad had said, "If we are gonna let him get his ear pierced, let him get the one that he wants". So it was settled, I was getting an industrial.

Now, finding a piercing shop wasn't very hard. The only one around

was Pleasurable Piercing in Hawthorne, NJ. A friend of mine had gotten her belly button done there, and I have heard that it was a very reputable place. When I arrived at Pleasurable, everything was very nice and clean. They had this big comfy leather couches to sit on while you waited. So, I went to the counter and told the lady that I wanted a 12 ga. industrial. Then my mom stepped in and started yelling at me because she thought 12 ga. was way to big. Luckily all the 14 ga. barbells were too short, so I had to go with 12.

I filled out all the forms, paid for everything and sat down on this

big couch. There were a few other people ahead of me, but the lady said it would only be about 5 minutes. I looked over at my mom and could see that she was furious, but trying to hide it. My dad was looking pretty cool, and he didn't seem to care that much. I was beyond excited. I could hardly wait to get in there and get it done.

When Jaime, my piercer, called my name I leaped out of my chair and

went into the piercing room. There was a big dentist-like chair in the middle of the room. I went and sat down, and watched him get everything ready. He put together the barbell I had just bought, took a receiver tube out of a sterile packet, and set them both on a tray. He then squirted some kind of lubricant out on the tray. Then he took out the needle from the sterile packet and put the end in the jelly. He rubber my ear down with alcohol, was ready to go. To my surprise, he didn't mark my ear or ask me about placement, but I guess that was OK, cause everything ended up in a good spot. He asked me if I was ready, and I said yes. Then he told me to take a deep breath, and he pushed the needle through the first part of my ear. No pain at all! Just a little pressure, and my ear got hot! Then he told me to take another deep breath, and he pierced the other side of my ear. Again, no pain at all! Jus the same pressure and heat like the first hole. He then said this might hurt a little, and he slid the barbell in and screwed on the other ball. This kind of hurt a little bit, but nothing to be scared of. I turned around to check it out in the mirror. Everything was fine. I thanked him, and we left.

I felt so good, I couldn't stop smiling or laughing. My dad seemed

to like it a lot, but my mother was mortified. She didn't say a word for the entire car ride home, and she had this "I just came from a funeral" type look on her face. Well that's too bad for her, cause its done and over with and she cant do a thing about it.

It really didn't hurt that much for the rest of the night. Kind of

just a slight ache, and it felt really hot. I cleaned it about 5 hours later, and that went very well. Sleeping on just my right side was very annoying, but eventually I fell asleep.

In the morning, it really didn't hurt too much, except when I touched

it. I took a shower and cleaned it again, and everything went well. If any of you live in the northern New Jersey area I highly suggest Pleasurable Piercing. They are very nice, very clean, and did a great job on my industrial. The prices could have been a little lower, but you definatley get what you pay for.
