No Nipple To Small

ef = "/cgi-bin/vote/votec.cgi?/pierce/08-nipple/990615/nipnnts.html">

Having small nipples isn't as much of a problem when getting a nipple piercing as I thought. For about the last year and a half or so, I have wanted to get my nipple pierced. But, I thought that I had rather small nipples and that it wouldn't be possible to get done.

So, a few weeks ago, I posted to R.A.B. and asked if there was such a thing as too small a nipple to get pierced. I got back a few replies, and all of them said, no there is no such thing. So off to the piercing studio I went. I wasn't planning on getting it done; I just wanted to see what the woman there said. As I am in Ottawa, I went to Universal Tattoo and Body Piercing. A lot of my friends have had piercings done there, and I have always been impressed with Juliet.

Juliet had a look at my nipple and told me there would be no problem. Most guys' think that their nipples are two small, and that is would be easy. I left the studio and started thinking about it some more. Then, my friend decided she wanted something done, so we started talking about it and she decided that she wanted a nipple done too.

On the May 24 weekend, my friend and I, along with my roommate, and another friend of ours made our way down to Universal. We walked in and paid our cash. They forgot to get us to sign the waiver forms, and we forgot all about them too, so, no big loss there. We were told it would be about 10 or 15 minutes, so we went over to get a drink and came back.

After waiting about 2 or 3 minutes, Juliet came out and motioned us to come back in to her back room. She was awesome, from the time we first saw her until the time we left, both my friend and I felt very comfortable with her. She explained everything while she was doing it and even before while she was setting up.

My friend and I agreed that I could go first. I had some selfish reasons for it. If she had gone first and it hurt, I didn't really want to see it. Well, as we got back into the room, Juliet said that she was set up to do my friend first. I was a little disappointed, but figured I had paid my money so I wasn't going to back out at this point.

So, my friend hopped up on the table and Juliet got everything set. She cleaned, marked, and then it was time. I don't really like needles, so I didn't watch, but it didn't sound painful at all. She popped the ring in and my friend was all set.

Now it was my turn. I was ready, umm, yeah. I hopped up on the table and Juliet cleaned my nipple. I got my right nipple pierced because I have an earring in my left ear, so in order to balance it I got my right nipple done. My nipple was cleaned with some rubbing alcohol, and some betadine.

I was then told to stand up and look straight ahead while my nipple was marked. She didn't ask if that was where I wanted it, but in the end it ended up in the right place, so I am not upset about that.

Now comes the tough part. I laid back down on the table, and the clamps were put on, most people say this is the most painful part, so I was not too worried as they didn't hurt too much. I think this is the point where I closed my eyes, but I can't really remember. Then, Juliet told me to take a big breath, and then let it out. As I let it out, she put the needle through. OUCH! Getting the piercing hurt a lot more than the clamps! I think I let out an extra couple of breaths when she did it. She put the captive bead ring through and then gave it a quick wipe down. All done, some pain, but it seemed to go away after time.

From there, we all went to a local bar and had a pop. Walking around downtown Ottawa with a fresh nipple piercing can be interesting. Taking steps causes the ring to bounce a little and that is not one of the nicer feelings right away. So, we walked over to the bar, which of course, was upstairs, so we gentle walked up the steps.

The general pain went away after about 3 or 4 hours, and then it was just tender to the touch. I feared sleeping on Saturday night, but it wasn't bad at all. I guess I was careful and didn't end up on my stomach. Yesterday and today have been pretty good too. I can now touch my nipple and not get any pain. The feeling of the ring is still there, but its not a painful or awkward thing anymore. It's more like a "there something there thing".

As for cleaning, I have been washing day and night with anti-bacterial Dial soap, and there have been few if any crusties, and no blood that I have seen. I am going to keep cleaning it like this for the next few weeks, and take care of it. My body tends to heal quickly so I am not too concerned about it.

Was the pain worth it? Yes, it was. It did hurt like hell, but it was over within about 4 or 5 seconds, so that wasn't too bad, and now I have this really cool looking ring in my nipple. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is thinking about it, and from what I was told, there is no such thing as too small a nipple!
