Nipple Experience

img src="nipple1.jpg" width=200 height=180 align=right>

I have been thinking about body modification for quite some time now. I remember the first time I saw a piercing other then an ear, I was 16 on my way home from work and there was this guy that was stopped next to me. He was in a jeep and didn't have a shirt on and he had his nipple pierced. I thought that was the greatest thing. It looked so neat. After that I always thought about it. After a while piercing was more mainstream and I saw it more and more, and the more I saw it the more I wanted to do something. When I finally got a computer and signed on to AOL I surfed the web and found the BME site. I couldn't believe all the different things that could be done, now my imagination was really going :-) BME answered all my questions and told me what I needed to know when I got something done. Without this site I would never have had anything done because I didn't know anyone into piercing and wouldn't have been able to get any information on how safe body piercing was. Well, nine years later my curiosity got the better of me last weekend when I went to the beach. There were so many guys running around with pierced nipples that I finally decided that I was going to have one done, and since my 25th birthday was in two days I decided that was going to be my birthday present to my self. When I got back home I couldn't wait until I got the piercing done. I had been thinking about it non stop on the four hour drive home from the beach. I remembered that there was a shop not too far from where I lived. I was making a delivery in the shopping center and saw a couple of people walk out of the store with what looked like every piercing you could have so I decided to go there. The drive over to Puncture seemed to take forever, my heart was beating faster and faster the closer I got, but I made up my mind that I was going to do it so nothing was going to stop me. When I walked into the store, right away it looked clean, The lady behind the counter was very helpful about showing me the different jewelry, and told me the pros and cons associated with the different kinds. I finally decided on a 14 GA stainless steal captive ring. I figured this would be best because it wasn't too flashy and since it was my first piercing (I don't even have pierced ears) it would be the best route to go with cleaning. All my questions (about aftercare what they do to keep everything clean and keep me healthy) were answered before I had a chance to ask them while they were sterilizing my jewelry. I was given a book that had photos of the work that John (my piercer) had done, I was impressed. Well, after all that my jewelry was clean and ready to be put in. John told me exactly what was going to happen, what he was going to do and what aftercare I needed to do, he also gave me the aftercare instructions in writing. He could tell I was nervous and helped me relax. John washed his hands in front of me put on the latex gloves and showed me the different supplies involved. As he was cleaning my nipple he told me what he was doing and what he was using. I was told the piercing would be a split second of slight pain then it would be gone, but that there would be some discomfort. He was right. The needle hurt but no more then getting a shot in the arm, and the discomfort feels like my boyfriend bit my nipple too hard, it was no big deal. After the piercing John made sure I was comfortable and that everything went well. He showed me his clean up procedures to get the room reedy for the next person, and told me to come back in a month for a check up, that made me feel better too. I was impressed by how clean everyone and everything was, how professional the piercers were there, and how much they seemed to care. I am glad that I went to Puncture I don't think I could have made a better choice. I love my nipple ring, It is now the day after and I hardly know it is there. I cant wait until it is healed and my boyfriend and I can start to play with it. I am also thinking about what I can do next, I am not sure if I should get the other nipple done or get a PA, most likely I will get them both done. :->
