Belly Button Pierced on a Guy

I was never really into piercings until a couple of years ago when I really started to notice girls with belly button rings. I thought they looked so good and started to have thoughts about getting mine done. However, because of my family they would never allow it and I would not bring it up. I never seriously thought about it until six months ago. I was determined to find some way of getting it done. I kept thinking of how good I would look with my belly pierced, and it would give me a reason to keep a flat stomach. The perfect opportunity came on a Sunday. I was with my girlfriend and her birthday was coming up. I asked her what she wants and she started telling me how she really wanted her belly button pierced. At the end of the conversation she jokingly said you should come with me. I was really excited and immediately said I would get mine pierced with you. At first she wasn't sure how it would look because she never saw a guy with one but she said if I wanted

to I could give it a try.

I did some more research on it and read that the pain wasn't terrible and almost everyone thought it was worth it. I looked at some more pictures to see how it looked on guys, and read over proper aftercare procedures. I decided I was definitely going to get it done.

On Tuesday my girlfriend told me she called the piercing shop and set up an appointment for us on the next Wednesday. I couldn't believe I was actually going to do it. I was anxious for Wednesday to come. When Wednesday morning finally arrived I was ready. I couldn't tell my parents where I was going after school so I told them I was going to my girlfriends. I couldn't focus all day. It felt like the longest day of my life. When school finally ended I met up with my girlfriend and we walked to Exotix Body Piercing.

When we arrived I was very excited, but nervous at the same time since this was my first piercing. When they called us up the first thing we did was pick out our jewelry. I went with a stainless steel banana bell. My girlfriend made me go first to see what it was like. After checking his placement with the marker I was ready to get pierced. He took out the needle and the clamps and told me to lie down in the chair. The piercer told me to take a few deep breaths, and at this point I knew he was going to put the needle through. At the end of the third breath, I was pierced. The piercing itself didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would. It hurt a little more when he put in the jewelry but overall it wasn't too painful. After hearing the aftercare instructions I got up and looked at my piercing in the mirror. I loved it. My girlfriend thought that it looked hot. Now it was her turn. When the needle went through, she screamed. Her belly button looked beautiful.

When I got home, I had to be extra careful not to brush against anything, or else my parents would be suspicious why my stomach was hurting me. I knew that if they found out, they would make me take it out immediately.

The first few days were sometimes painful and it hurt when I would bend right at my waist or when my stomach would brush against things. I tried to avoid sleeping on my stomach but during the first week or so I would wake up during the night if I rolled onto my stomach because of the pain. I cleaned it twice a day with saltwater and made sure to rotate the bar.

Now, six months later I am fully healed and changed the jewelry a month ago. So far I have managed to keep it hidden from my parents. I have gotten mixed reactions form people. Some of my friends call me girly for it, but when I showed it to my girlfriend's friends, they all said it was hot. All that matters is if you like it. Sometimes me and my girlfriend swap jewelry And I love wearing her dangly rings. Overall it was a great experience. The pain wasn't too bad and it is an easy piercing to hide. If you are worried about what other people will think of you, don't let that be the reason you don't get pierced. If it makes you happy and you like it, you shouldn't care what other people think. I am so happy I decided to get my belly button pierced.
