I finally got my belly button pierced!

of all, let me tell yall a little bit about myself. My name's Erin and I'm from SC. I'm 15 years old and I've wanted my belly button pierced for about 3 years now. It all started back when a friend of mine got her's done and I loved it. I loved it so much that I decided I wanted mine done. Well, I got all excited and then my parents told me that I could not get it pierced. In SC you have to have a birth certificate, and ID and a valid Driver's lisence # so I couldn't get it done without them. Well, this Christmas I woke up and there was a envelope in the tree. I opened it and it was a gift certificate to Heat Street for one navel piercing. I was so happy that I called everyone and told them that I was getting it done. It seemed like most of my friends were jealous because their parents would not let them have there's pierced. I asked my mom when the soonest she could take me would be. It was Christmas day so she couldn't take me then and she had to go back to work that Monday so the only day she could take me (besides waiting a whole week which was not possible) was the next day, Sunday. The time came. It was Sunday morning and when I woke up, I had butterflies in my stomache. My mom had agreed to take me and I called up my best friend Nicole and asked her did she want to go with me. When I hung up with her I realized that had not even called Heat Street to make sure they were opened. I fugured that with my luck, they'd be closed. I called them and, thank god, they were open. Nicole said that she would go with me so we picked her up and headed to the tatoo/piercing parlor. It seemed like it took FOREVER to get there but we finally did.

I was so nervous when we got there but there was no way that I was backing out then. When I got there, it took a little while before they could take me back because there was some other girl in front of me getting something pierced. When it was my turn, they told me to go right back. Then he left the room to get what he needed. I looked at all the posters and momentarily took my mind off of what was about to happen. It seemed like forever before he finally came in the room with what he needed to pierce it. He told me that I should start with a 14g so that what I got. He told me to lay back on the chair. They chair that they had there reminded me on a dentist chair but anyway, when I got up in the chair, he told me to unbutton my pants and roll them down (I didn't like the way he was looking at me while I unbutton them.....). then he cleaned the area to be pierced and asked me was I ready. He marked the place where the piercing would be and asked me was it straight. I tld him it looked straight to me and then he put the clamp on it. This didn't hurt. It just felt like someone pulling on my skin a little. He told me to take a deep breath and then I felt the needle go in. It didn't hurt very much. It just felt like a hard pinch and then, 30 seconds later, it felt as if nothing had happened. When I got home, I couldn't stop looking at it. I called everyone I knew (and everyone that I forgot to call before I got it done) and told them that I had actually gone through with it. The pain was minimal and it felt normal now. I was so afraid that it was going to get infected so I didn't touch it except to turn it. I tried not to touch without washing my hands because I didn't want it to get infected because I've heard back stories about people's belly buttons getting infected. I cleaned in three times a day with Betadine and Dial soap then put antibiotic ointment on it just incase it was going to get infected. It was a little red and sore the first few days but the healing process is going great and I love it! I have showed it to just about everyone and they agree that it looks great. I recommend it to anyone who even thinks about getting it done. You won't have any regrets, I haven't! If you have any questions or comment e-mail me! Thanx! ~Erin
