"Sharp object jabbed through eyebrow"

mber when I was young and saw people with piercings, I thought how could they do that, their ruining their body. As I grew older I came to a understanding that they were expressing themselves, being who they believed they were, an individual. Now a days there is so many people that judge others by the way they look, but the thing is I do not care. If I go through life wondering what others think, I am not living my life to its fullest potential. I have four earrings in one ear and three in the other, but that was not enough, I wanted more. I have had my mind set on getting my eyebrow pierced for some time. The problem was convincing my parents. I did not think that it would be hard to convince my mother since she let me get a tattoo, but I was wrong. For some strange reason she allowed me to get a tattoo at fifteen but would not allow me to get my eyebrow pierced. Her reasoning for this was because a tattoo can be covered up by clothes but an eyebrow piercing is something she would have to look at every day. Then I went through a period of time when I did not want to get my eyebrow pierced, I think it was because I had applied for a job and they do not hire people with piercings, other than ear piercings. That discouraged me for awhile, but I realized that this is something I really want to get done. I know that most of the professional world of buisness does not except piercings and tattoos all over the body. I realize that when I get older I will probably have to take out my eyebrow earing. I have a long time until that happens so Im not going to worry. I finally convinced my mom after reasoning to let me get my eyebrow pierced. She even gave me the money to get it done and I was like "woo woo." The plan was that I would go during lunch at school since the tattoo/piercing place was only five minutes away from my school. My friend and I went during lunch and found out that they do not open until one o'clock, so we decide to skip class and come back at one. We get there at one and no one is there, so we go to the coffee shop beside that tattoo/piercing studio to wait. We checked back every once in awhile and they finally opened at quarter after two. My friend and I walk over and ask if I can get my eyebrow pierced and my luck they ran out of needles, so it was out of the question of getting it done that day. Anyways I am glad I did not get it done there because later that day I found out that someone got hepatitis from getting a piercing. Apparently they had a piercer there that had hepatitis but did not know and she would check the sharpness of the needle my pricking her finger. What a stupid thing to do anyways! So I decided to get my eyebrow pierced at where I got my tattoo, since I already know the guy and he was really nice. I called and made an appointment for the next day. By the next morning I was so pumped that I was finally going to get my eyebrow pierced, and hoping that nothing else would go wrong. I got there and soon as I walk in he wass like go to the back room. I went there and he marked with a pen two dots on my skin to show me where the piercing is going to take place. I agreed that it was a good spot and now I am starting to get nervous, cause I am kinda a wimp when it comes to things like this. I mean having a hollow needle go right through my skin kinda freaks me out. Anyways he gets the clamp ready and puts it on my eyebrow and this does not hurt at all. He gets the needle and shoves it through, it felt as if it only went half way through, but I was wrong, it was all the way through. This felt only like a pinch, nothing more. Ok I have my eyes closed because I really do not want to see the needle with a cork in it dangling in front of my eye. The piercer and my friend tell me I should go look in the mirror and I refuse too, they finally make me look in the mirror to see the needle poking through my eyebrow. Great, what a sight!! He gets the earring and puts it on and this does not hurt at all either, except for the fact that my eyebrow is now gushing blood, but that's understandable since I just did have something poke into me. I look in the mirror and fall in love with it, not to sound prude but it looks very good on me. I pay the piercer $40 and go on my merry way.

I now am planning on going back and getting my belly button pierced and also to get another tattoo. I recommend getting your eyebrow pierced, but not because everyone else has them and you think they are cool, get it for yourself. Also do not let judgemental people ruin your life. Live life to the fullest!!
