My eyebrow!

been wanting to have my eyebrow pierced for about a year and a half. I was just going to wait until I turned 18 and get it done professionally, but I am young and stupid so I didn't wait. I had looked on the web for experiences and things to learn a bit more about it. So when I felt I was ready I went to this shop called the magical garden and bought a 18 gauge needle and curved barbell. I went home and chickened out. I talked to a few friends and asked them if they thought that I should do it myself. Some of them said that I should and some said that I shouldn't. So it was left up to me if I should really do this or not. I waited about another week or so and decided that I was ready. I went into my bathroom before hand and made sure that everything was clean and then I numbed my eyebrow for about 30 minutes with some ice. Which I really don't think helped in the end but I did it anyway. Then I marked the spot on my eyebrow where I wanted the barbell. It took me about 15 minutes to get up the nerve to actually put this needle through my eyebrow but finally I did it. It didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought it would. And so after I got the needle through I put in the barbell and cleaned it with some solution that I had from getting my ears pierced. For about the next day or so I had to keep looking in the mirror to see if I actually did it! But I did. And I went around showing it off to all of my friends who were surprised that I did it. After having it pierced for about two weeks my Mom noticed it. She freaked out and wanted me to take it out. I wasn't about to take it out after having had gone though all the trouble so I talked to her about it and she said that she wouldn't have had so much of a problem with it if I would have asked her first. So I got to keep it. My dad on the other hand hasn't really said much. But I think he is cool with it or I probably wouldn't have it at all. Everyone else in my family is cool with it. My sister even went in to get her belly button pierced after I had told her about piercing my eyebrow. She said that she was worried about it hurting and all of that. But after talking to me she finally went in and did it. I didn't have any problems with the piercing for about a month. And then a friend and I were rough housing and she caught my eyebrow ring and ripped it a little bit. It didn't bleed to much but after a few days it got really sore and had some discharge. I switched the barbell to a ring which probably irritated it more but I cleaned it three times a day for the next week or so and made sure I didn't sleep on my left side to irritate it even more than it already was. But it eventually got better. I've had it pierced for about 8 months now and There has been no migration or anything. It doesn't get irritated or anything anymore. It has healed very nicely and I am so happy with my decision to do it. my Mom has even learned to like it. She even bought me a new barbell for my birthday. Now I've been planning to get my right eyebrow pierced. But this time I know I will go and have someone do it professionally. I have really had fun having my eyebrow pierced. Ive been looking for some new jewelry for it. Maybe something a little more colorful. If you have been thinking about having it done for a while I recommend having it done. Its been interesting seeing peoples reactions. The number one question I always get asked was "Did that hurt?" Normally I am very polite and explain to them that it didn't and everything. Its been a real experience having this. Just if you do want it done. Don't do it yourself. Now that I think about it I wish I would have just waited and had it done professionally. Piercing is totally addicting. Since I pierced my eyebrow I've stretched my ears to a 8 gauge and am going to stretch them to a 00 gauge. I have a few tattoos planed out. But it will all have to wait until I am 18. So if you really want to do it then you should. And dont let anyone talk you out of doing it. Because if you want it then you should do it.
