I have some strange anxiety issue that no one seems to be able to fix. The Psychiatrist has tried a few different medications, and nothing seems to help. The Psychiatry department referred me back to my regular doctor to see if there was some medical cause for my constant racing heart, hyperventilating, trembling, nausea, etc.
I had an EKG yesterday. I should know in the next few days if there's a problem with my heart. Today, I had 5-6 vials of blood drawn and a urine analysis done. The UA came back normal, and I should know about the blood tests in the next couple of days, as well.
The Psychiatrist also has me going to "Anxiety Management" classes on Wednesday afternoons. I guess it's a mind-over-matter approach to a chemical problem, but maybe it will work.
Something has to work. Gods please, something has to work.

David and I are getting geared up and ready to go to the 14th Annual Association of Professional Piercer's conference in wonderful Las Vegas, NV. We both feel pretty passionately about modifications as well as learning, so we're excited about going. I went last year and had a blast. I'm sure our days won't be limited to class, though. David hasn't seen much of Vegas and I intend on changing that!
The Southern California BME BBQ in San Diego, California is going to be on Saturday, August 8, 2009. We'll be working on buttons (and t-shirts maybe!) over the next few weeks. We really need to get passed APP first.

I haven't logged into my IAM account since October, I believe. A few things have happened since then, so I'm going to give a few quick updates. For one, David and I got married in the middle of February. His mother is having surgery on her back, so we've put off our reception and honeymoon until May. We're going to have a fancy reception and then go on a week-long honeymoon to, of all places, Las Vegas so we can do the APP convention.
The last thing you guys would probably like to hear about is the BBQ. I believe the date is set for 08-08-2009 in San Diego, but more info on that will follow shortly.

I had emergency surgery last Sunday to drain an abscess in my abdomen. I now have a gaping hole, and I'm in insane amounts of pain. Unpacking the gauze three to five times a day is slowly killing me. On Wednesday night, the strangest thing happened to me. I was in the shower so I could unpack the gauze and debride the wound. I don't remember the whole shower. There are...pieces missing. I remember standing in the shower. Then sitting down somehow, with nothing in between. Then the smell of cinnamon rolls. Being dry and warm, and then seeing David's eyes and being wet and sitting on the hard shower's floor again. And no, no pain meds. Nothing. Just...pain. Just an ever-widening gap between a body that hurts and a mind that has lost the will to cope.
