Something Else

I have a remnant of a dream lingering somewhere in the back of my head. Strange. It sorta tastes like Green Tea, or maybe that Mint Ice Cream from Ben n' Jerry's that has those huge chocolate chunks in it. Or maybe it's something else. Maybe it's not a dream, but rather, a forgotten memory of something I never experienced. Damn that inter-dimensional travel.

I have designed a tattoo enhanced brand for my calf. It started off as a tribal tattoo, but it wasn't quite right. So I kept designing and re-designing. I'm going to see Cynthia at CMHurt in Garden Grove next weekend to discuss the design. Once the brand heals, I'll add the tattoo portion, probably by Roger at Action Tattoo.

I've spent the last four years studying everything I could on body piercing. I've read, and read, and read. I've been privy to BME about as long, but only recently decided to bother with a profile. For a while, I had been trying to decide if body piercing was a hobby, or actually part of my soul as I suspected. I took all my piercings out for a week to see if I could live without them. Then, after that 7 days of nakedness, I put them all back in. I renewed my search with a new fervor, thirsty to go beyond anything I'd seen before. Basically, to take it up a knotch. We'll see how that goes...

About Me - Shaman

I keep feeling like I have more to share. As that list gets longer, so does my IAM page. So, to shorten it a bit, I've created this secondary page. It's the more in-depth stuff that the average passer-by won't care about.

My name is Tiffany. I am 28 years old. I currently live in Southern California. I have two kids, Leona (almost 2) and Maximus (3-1/2). I play collegiate volleyball, go to yoga regularly, and spend about two hours at the gym five times a week. I am also completely and totally socially inept. I am, however, what I refer to as "technologically adept." I enjoy website development, designing graphics, programming, etc. I use a Mac with an XP virtual machine. I am also full time college student working on degree in Computer Science. I primarily use Eclipse, Visual C++, Dreamweaver, and I'm fond of a little text editor called "Smultron." I'm also a Private Investigator with over 11 years experience.

My name here is "Shaman" because I am a legally ordained and practicing shaman. I have a strong passion for ritual and spiritual body modifications. I have been pierced, tattooed, scarred, cut, and more. I have been part of Ár nDraíocht Féin (Druidry), the Golden Dawn, several flavors of Wicca (including Correllian, Gardnerian, and others), the Ordo Templi Orientis, Zen Buddhism (lived in a Monastery!) and a hard-core practitioner of Chaos Magick. My root training comes from a family tradition, and I was attempting to add-on to what I already knew. I've come up with this strange techno-shamanism that works. I have an extremely hard time dealing with reality because I honestly have one foot in this world and one foot somewhere else. In an attempt to simply survive in "this world," I've done my best to apply my shamanism/magick to coding, programming, and creating sacred-space for people on the internet. Weird shit, but it works.

I host drumming circles and other open rituals in the Southern California area. Sometimes, these rituals are announced via the BME Events board. Other times, you may find out from mentions in my diary entries or by asking me what events are up and coming.

I am somewhat of a jewelry snob. My body jewelry, my bracelet, my rings, even my watch, are all high polish titanium. No color. Usually no gemstones, but if I do, they're tiny and clear (cz, diamond, sapphire, but clear). I wear predominantly Industrial Strength and Anatometal.

Current and Future Mods:
[Lobe Piercing - Stretched] - 1/2" (right/left)
[Lobe Piercing - Stretched] - 4g (right/left)
[Lobe Piercing - Stretched] - 8g (right/left)
[Double Nostril Piercings] - 18g (right/left)
[Septum - Stretched] - 8g presently, previously stretched to 2g
[Navel Piercing] - 14g
Infinity Broken [Tattoo] (on the back of my neck)
Crop Circle [Tattoos] (up the back of my left calf)
Butterfly [Tattoo] (on left forearm)
[Scars] - Numerous, mostly from ritualized cutting.

[Bridge Piercing] - retired for no reason, will return again (plans are set!)
[Tragus Piercings] - previously retired - cartilage cracked during stretch) - hoping to do dermal anchors (aka microdermals, single-point piercings, etc.) on both traguses because I listen to music so much. CBR's or anything else seem to interfere with headphone buds (will do after bridge settles)

MUSIC: Nine Inch Nails, Disturbed, KMFDM. I listen to quite a variety of music, but those three are my absolute favorites.

MOVIES: Constantine, Kill Bill, National Treasure, Super Troopers, Jackass, Pulp Fiction, Once Upon A Time In Mexico, Star Wars, The Matrix, (more to be added constantly)

TELEVISION: Firefly, Avatar, CSI, Taboo, How It's Made, Going Tribal. Anything on the History Channel, The Learning Channel, and especially the National Geographic Channel.

BOOKS: Tao Te Ching, Art of War, Ender's Game (more soon)

There are a few last things you should know about me.  People who really know me, know my answer to these questions.  I think the answers to these three questions will give you a better understanding as to the way my mind works.

What is the funniest thing you can think of?

Strangely enough, the funniest thing I can think of is a scene from "Pulp Fiction."  "Why'd you hafta go and shoot Marvin in the face?!"  The scene where John Travolta's character accidentally shoots the man sitting in the back seat of the car - that is the funniest thing I have ever seen.  It's just so random, so senseless.  Here he was, carrying on a conversation with the guy in the backseat when, bam, he accidentally shoots him in the face and brains fly everywhere.  That's awesome.  What a fucking weird movie.  It's probably one of my favorites.

What flowers do you like?

Actually, I don't really like flowers.  I think they are a waste of money.  I would rather see flowers growing wild, or even in a garden.  That said, I would probably say that sunflowers or johnny-jump-ups are my favorites.  Especially the huge sunflowers.  When someone gives me flowers, I usually take it as a sign of how little they know me.  If it's my birthday, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, or any other flowery-holiday, I would rather have something functional.  Or, even better, a piece of someone's time.  Time is valuable.  And by "time," I mean, spend time with me.  Do something with me that I like.  Walk around Fry's Electronics, for example.

What annoys you?

Separate but equal was deemed unconstitutional a long time ago.  But for some unknown fucking reason, men and women still have separate bathrooms.  If I bring up this issue to a woman, a common answer is, "men are gross, and their farts are gross, and their poop is gross, and why would I want to share a bathroom with them?"  If I bring the issue up to a man, a common answer is, "women are gross, tampons are gross, pads are gross, why would I want to share a bathroom with a woman who can't even stand to pee?"  Okay people, you know what?  The bathroom is where everyone takes care of their dirty business.  Grow up.  As a woman, I agree that tampons and pads are gross.  The thought of a man standing to pee doesn't phase me at all, but it's not something that I would stand and watch if given the chance.  (Well, okay, maybe I might.)  Let's make one big bathroom.  Plenty of urinals all around.  Lots of stalls.  Everyone's shit stinks.  And it's not like we toss the used tampons and pads on the floor.  They go in the trashcan, fucktards.  Get over it.

[Edit1: Someone suggested that there is actually a privacy issue with men and women sharing a bathroom.  Huh?  Are you telling me that a man can't look at a man, and a woman can't look at a woman?  Sure, there are perverts out there, and yes, perverts have to pee too.  But that's a lame excuse.]
[Edit2: Another response - what about children?  Shouldn't we protect the privacy of children?  Yes.  Small children usually accompany their mothers or fathers into the restroom.  Bigger kids do go into the bathroom alone.  But what if big brother and little sister didn't have to go into separate bathrooms?  What if mom and dad didn't have to go into different bathrooms?  And think of all the other moms and dads out there; don't you think if they saw something happening to someone else's kid, they would step up?  We have become a mass that is afraid to get involved.  Well, enough!  Let's take care of each other.  Let's start with the children.  And the bathroom.  Let's start with the bathroom.]
