Burt at Bohemian Tattoos in Paarl, South Africa (just a bit inland from Capetown) tells me the girl who got this was a machine and had no problem sitting through it. I’ve got a pretty high pain threshhold, but I don’t like the idea of tattooing my palm or the bottoms of my feet one bit!!!

That’s beautiful.
It looks rather spiritual, as well…
I mentioned this eye (not her tattoo, the actual symbol) in an essay and now I always love seeing things that are based on it 🙂
whats the eye all about? i dont understand the symbolism there. but aside from that, the tattoo is pretty awesome. i like the look of it alot. the placement might merit quite a few touch ups over the years but its still awesome.
someone please explain to me why anyone can say this tattoo is beautiful. honestly i think it looks horrible. maybe it’s intentional, but that’s not even the shape of an eye. and maybe it’s just the picture, but the shading looks rather uneven. the circles are hardly even round. maybe i’m just ignorant. but this looks like hell.
feel free to put me in my place. i really don’t get it.
takecare- I think some of what you are talking about may have to do with some distortion. The palm has a lot of movement to it so even holding it in a slightly different position than the one it was tattooed in will cause it to look different. Also I think the camera was at an odd angle, its either that or she has an abnormally large palm. As for the shading…I dunno. It is a palm maybe it bled out a bit? I don’t have any real answers for you, but these are just some thoughts.
I like it.
i want stars there 🙂
It’s just an amazing tattoo.
I love the color of the eye…
interesting idea. there any meaning behind it?
wow, crazy tatto.
great colors.
I really like it!
I agree. It looks great. Somewhat spooky. Definitely does it for me.
Oh dear god… I only have ittybitty tattoos on my palms, on the meathy part under the thumb, not even the sensitive part inthe middle, they literally took less than a minute for each (there’s one on each hand), and I was just about crying, they hurt so bad… I can’t imagine sitting through something this ink-intensive and big in the center… it’s giving me shivers just thinking about it.

Hope you didn’t have to have any touch-ups
Hmmmm….Masonic
i just got a similar tattoo, but on the knuckle side of my hand. i wanted the eye on the palm, but fave different tattoo artists told me it would fade, and one showed me his palm tattoo which had indeed faded. did you get around this?
please, please write back. [email protected]
The eye in the palm of the hand symbolises understanding. When you understand, you accept and are moved to act. With an eye in the palm it is said that your hand can see and understand and so would not act to create suffering for another
