A black-and-white photo of a person mid-air in a Superman-style body suspension pose, supported by multiple hooks in their back and legs, smiling joyfully toward the camera. They are suspended horizontally in a large indoor space with high ceilings and visible rigging. A group of onlookers—some seated, some standing—watch with expressions of admiration, amusement, and support. The atmosphere is lively and communal, capturing a moment of shared experience and transformation.

Healed Cherry Blossom Scarification

Some time back I posted Kitten‘s gorgeous large-scale scarification of cherry blossoms done by Dave Gillstrap. It’s now looking well healed, as you can see it peeking out from under her clothes — for for the top half.

You know, I don’t like most scarifications.. It’s just not something that I usually find visually appetizing. But this one, from the time it was fresh to now, I have always liked. I love the simplicity and the size. It’s lovely. Congrats!

those look really nice. scarifications often look sloppy once they are healed, but this is so crisp and i love the darker color.

#15: I had my scars cut, I think I’m a bit too much of a wimp to handle branding.
#34: I spent some time laying in the sun, but other than that, I just lucked out.

To everyone commenting on it being even/crisp: The artist makes all the difference. That and I was told not to pick at them or irritate them with things. If the artist knows what they’re doing, the scar typically holds some presence. I’m very lucky to have Dave working on me. He’s an amazing scar artist.

I love it when we get to see fresh pictures and then healed pictures…this turned out really nice. I’m not usually a big fan of most scarifications but this is amazing.

I agree with the “leave it alone” theory of scar healing bigtime… Picking at scars almost always results in uneven healing, even if it does give bigger keloids.

Fantastic results. I don’t know if I could leave a healing scar alone – I’d itch it into a mess.
