Yeah I agree Leon, the photo Stewy took and posted on the pierced forum is awesome. I don’t know how to do a clickable link, but the address is:

The pics are in the scarification section under the thread entitled “gun powder”.

Oh, and look at that. It automatically makes it a link. I could have pretended I knew what I was doing!

The process is awesome, but is it slow enough to make a permanent scar?

No anesthetic, or numbing creams or anything else for the cutting or burning.

> Larry it was gun powder straight out of shot gun shells.
Still more then one type used in those, but almost certainly not blackpower, probably something nitrocellulose based with various stabilizers – the older non-smokeless powers are nearly only used by people who intentionally want “old style” weapons like reenactors, muzzle loaders, etc. I have no idea how bad they are or aren’t, I mostly hear about things from friends into reloading and don’t pay enough attention. Very cool idea though, hope it turns out good.

That went a lot quicker that i thought it would for some reason. Beats using a cautery pen. I would love to see how that heals.

Props to him to be able to lay there so still. I’d have jumped up and run around the room screaming. I’m a wuss. 😛

Wow, I have heard stories of tribal people using gunpowder
rubbed into tribal scarification to make the scar look more brutal.
But that is no different to rubbing in fine ash.
This one looks awesome. But I bet it smelt terrible!
Do we get to see the final healed result?
