A black-and-white photo of a person mid-air in a Superman-style body suspension pose, supported by multiple hooks in their back and legs, smiling joyfully toward the camera. They are suspended horizontally in a large indoor space with high ceilings and visible rigging. A group of onlookers—some seated, some standing—watch with expressions of admiration, amusement, and support. The atmosphere is lively and communal, capturing a moment of shared experience and transformation.

The Friday Follow-up

This week the Friday Follow-up is taking a look back at a scar that was ModBlogged back in August.   Gabor’s OM scarification piece had a few people confused as to where exactly it was located on the body, but the healed pictures today clearly show the scar around the navel.  Before we get to the healed picture, lets check out the fresh cutting.

Fresh

To see how the scar has healed in the past few months, keep on reading.

Don’t ask me how the outie turned into an innie, I just don’t know.

Healed

If you’d like to check out more of Gabor’s scarification work, take a look in his BMEzine scarification portfolio gallery.  While you’re there you can check out other artists that have been featured in the Friday Follow-ups, like John Joyce, Brian Decker, Efix Roy, and many more.

Awesome scar, scary Transformer belly button. And is that really what the end of a belly button looks like?

im so confused…im so sure that isnt the same person….. the skin in the unhealed pic is lighter and im sure thats around a nipple or another scar of whatever sort….. an outie navel cannot turn into an innie……

    im so confused.

either way the healed scar is beautiful.

Beautiful cutting. But I’m really more curious about the magical innie/outie belly button mystery happening here.

That’s what was so distracting when the photo was first posted, what was in the middle of the scarification. The debate of just what in the first picture (bellybutton) really took away from the cutting… I still am more distracted by the innie to an outtie than the healing myself.

The flash of the camera made the fresh cut pic look lighter, but it’s definitely the same cutting if you look at the fine detail between the two pictures. I hope the person in the photos can tell us about their belly button, the suspense is killing me.

@May: They are the same person, and both images are of her navel.

After taking a close look at the first photo, I think we’re all just seeing a trick of the light. It isn’t actually an outie, but just a clear shot of her navel head on. The flash gives the impression that the middle is sticking out, when i actuality it’s an innie. Check out the curvature of the OM symbol next to the navel, you can see how it’s bending inwards just slightly.

    Ahh.. here we go..

Both are the same photo, but with the top one flipped, it makes it appear that the top row of feet is raised, while the bottom row is indented.

its the perspective they were laying down in the first icture so the navel is really open and swollen its not an outie its just a freak camera angle you can see the shadow on the bottom right the angle is from the bottom just enough……great scars though really really good
