Ok- I had wanted a tattoo since I was 15. I was going to get a tribal piece on my lower back.it was this beautiful curvy piece, not so thick, as much as thin and curved..

I decided that I wanted something a tad smaller for my first tattoo.I had always read that people never really regret their first tatoo, even if it wastn that special to them later in life. I just didnt want to be a girly girl, getting the old butterfly or flower on the ankle. ICK. I wanted something uhhhhh, at least a tad different. I was looking at some magazines and I saw it. This guy had a swiling pattern.. it was ALL white. NO out line. I thought it was beautiful. I went down to the local shop and looked for something that would be cool in white. I looked through all their flashwork for ideas. I eventually saw a cluster of stars.. very basic, decent sized... I asked for the price and told her what I wanted to do and she said ok. I started tanning a lot because I knew the white would show up better, and it was almost summer and I wouldnt be able to tan that spot later.2 weeks later I show up for my appt.
I tell the artist what I want. She immediatly stopped me. "we can do white, but we HAVE to do an outline, unless you are an artist it will be a big mistake.. it will fade into a blob.." she then showed me her tattoo that was without an outline in a light hue, she said shes redone it quite a few times. I settled with a fine outline..
We sat down and she set up.. I was telliing her I was afraid I would pass out or something. as soon as the needle touched my skin I exclamed "That doesnt hurt!!!" The piercer for the studios popped her head in and said " we could make it hurt if you really want us to."
Overall, I liked the tattoo, even though it wasnt what I planned. I went in for my touch up and had it done in golden yellow. The healing and Peeling process was easy, it didnt hurt. It sucked having to hide it the next day at work ( I had went home early the day before saying I had a school project) After the second touch up the healing wasnt so great. At one point, the sheets came off my mattress and I slept on that arm so the scabbed got scraped off.. the yellow is not to even now. I will get that taken care of eventually. I have other things I am working on right now. I am planning on building it into a sleeve in the near future..I really want a shaded and in-depth tattoo.. I dont want basic lines. I also dont like the fact taht people assume I am trying to be a punk because of the stars. I like the star fad sometimes, but please. I wanted something that would look pretty white. I swear.I saw a lightening tat that was surrounded with purple and yellow and red.. I was going to work with something like that. I am saving my back for something taht is extremely Meaningful to me..This 800 word rule is great, its making me remember more detail about my experience...
I couldnt watch it happening. i dont know why.. I wasnt bothered at all by the feeling,in fact, I was looking at her books of classic tattos the whole time, and talking ot my friend. when I tried to look my head wouldnt turn. I couldnt make myself do it. about 80% through.. she stopped to re dip her needles or soemthing.. I asked her how many needles there were in the gun (6, which surprised me). and then I looked at my arm.. it was bleeding, you couldnt even see the white.. ( which might explain why some parts were a lot whiter than others.. fixed by yellow touch up). That was the last time I looked until after when I took off the bandage and cleaned it off. I cant wait to do it again, the anticipation, the little bit of fear in your stomach beacuse you dont exactly remember how much it hurt before
and then leaving with something new permanently etched in your skin. Its a good thing ( Marth Stewart moment, sorry )
First I am saving for a devil chick with wings and a tail...
