I haven't always been into tattoos and piercings. My parents are certainly surprised by some of the stuff I've done to myself in the last few years; but the biggest surprise of all was my decision to get a triangle piercing.

I've always been fascinated by genital piercings, and had long considered getting a vertical clit hood piercing. I'd planned on getting it done as a birthday present, but then a friend of mine showed me some pictures of triangle piercings. She said she saw it and thought of me because of the size of my clit.

In order to get a triangle piercing you have to be anatomically suited for it. Your clit has to be fairly large, and you have to be able to easily lift the shaft of the clitoris away from the body. When you lift it the small triangle of flesh underneath is what gets pierced (hence the name).

At first the thought of getting such a piercing scared me. After all, if the piercer doesn't place it right the nerve shaft could be nicked and cause loss of sensation. I talked to a lot of people and did a lot of research before making the decision to get this piercing.

I actually got very lucky. A local bdsm group that I'm a member of decided to have a piercing demo and invited an awesome professional piercer to give it. I contacted him ahead of time and asked about having a triangle done at the demo. He expressed a slight worry about doing such a complicated piercing with so much distraction, but invited me to come in to the shop to have a consultation so he could decide if he could do it at the demo or if I'd have to have it done at the shop.

Very nervous and very excited, I drove to Progress in Raleigh and sat in the front looking through a magazine while I waited. Finally my turn on the table came around and I followed Lee into the back. He talked to me about the possible complications, and the anatomical requirements for the triangle and then invited me to strip and hot up on the table.

I shucked my jeans and hopped up while he washed his hands and gloved up. When he was done he slid a stool over to examine my girly bits. It was kinda disconcerting to have a stranger exclaiming over my privates and detailing the different piercings that would look good on me. He mentioned that there was enough room underneath my clit for two bars if I wanted, but I declined. I got up and got dressed as he told me that my anatomy was perfectly suited for a triangle, and there would be no problem at all piercing me at the demo. I went home very happy and slightly nervous thinking about the party.

The next night was the demo and party. About 35 people attended and we all sat and listened to a short lecture on aseptic techniques and how important it is to go to a reputable piercer to prevent infection. Then the fun started. First up was a cute lady who wanted a tragus piercing. Hers went pretty quickly and she had a huge smile after she got up from the table. We all watched while a man got two scrotal rings, and another lady got her nipples done. Then it was my turn.

I was still slightly nervous as I slipped out of my skirt and panties and laid down on the table. I was extremely aware of all the other people now intently staring straight between my legs. Lee talked about the piercing I would be getting; the upsides, possible downsides, and anatomical requirements for it before getting started. I was warm and comfy under huge bright lights, though it was a little surreal laying there holding my husband's hand while I listened to Lee.

Finally the moment came and Lee asked for quiet from the audience. He prepped the area and then brought out the clamp. He prefers not to click the clamp all the way shut, since the can be a little too intense so close to the nerve bundle. He asked me to hold very still so he wouldn't have to click it shut and asked me to take long deep breaths. He finally got the clamp situated where he wanted it and told me to take a few more deep breaths. Just as I started to exhale he shoved the needle through. I was already braced for the pain so I didn't even jump, and the initial sharp pain quickly receded to a warm glow around the whole area. He slid the jewelry in and then the clamp off before securing the ends. After a few moments he switched the first ring out for another, shorter one since the area wasn't swelling as much as he feared it might. Switching the jewelry out actually twinged more than the needle going through.

After he was done I hopped off the table to a round of applause from the audience, and carefully slipped my panties and skirt back on. I had no problems at all on the ride home, though I did ride with my legs apart and one foot propped up on the dash.

I got the piercing done back in December, and it's now July. I went back to see Lee again after about three weeks and had him switch the bar out for a shorter one since the swelling had completely disappeared and the original bar was too long. I followed the aftercare instructions carefully; soaked it in a saline solution twice a day for three weeks, then down to once a day for another month. It can take up to a year to heal completely, but it's done wonderfully so far. I don't have orgasms walking down the street, but it definitely adds a new sensation to sex. I'm planning on swapping out the bar for a teardrop ring soon, but so far this is one of the best piercings I've ever had. If you are suited for it, I highly recommend it.
