I'm naked from the waist down, sitting on what distinctly reminds me of the examining table at my gynecologist's office: Legs spread, feet in the stirrups, with Jimi's head, gloved hands, and a q-tip between my thighs; waiting to hear if I have suitable anatomy for a triangle so that I can have yet another needle shoved through part of my nether regions. Interesting what some of us do for fun.

"Not to sound like a dirty old man or anything," Jimi pauses, "but you have a really pretty pussy...and you can definitely do the piercing"

But I digress,

On my eighteenth birthday, I had gotten a vertical hood piercing, and now, less than 5 months later I was ready for something else 'down there'. I had been considering a triangle on and off since my birthday, but was intimidated because of how advanced it was, and was worried that my anatomy would not be able to withstand the piercing.

Well, sometime around the middle of February, I decided that I might as well have myself looked at. Worst case scenario, I would not be able to get the piercing, but at least I wouldn't be stuck wondering "What if..."

Which leads us to myself, sans pants and panties, on the examining table in Jimi's piercing room at Mystic. After a thorough examination of my vagina, Jimi decrees that I am in fact able to get the piercing, although they may have to modify the jewelry because of how small my inner labia are and where they begin in proportion to my clitoris. Jimi tells me that he'll do it as a training piercing, showing Matt (my usual piercer) what to do. We make tentative plans to do the piercing in March, during my spring break, as I had a gynecologist appointment then and felt it was only right to let my doctor adjust to one piercing before scaring her with two.

Well, sometime during the next week I got a call from my doctors office telling me there was a problem with my appointment date, and it had to be pushed back until May. Needless to say, I was not about to wait until May for this piercing.

I ended up calling Matt that evening and having him ask Jimi if he would be available the next Friday evening, as my roommate and I would be heading home from college for the weekend, and I was anxious to get the triangle done. Everything worked out, and I spent the rest of the week impatient for Friday to come.

Friday morning after we finished classes, Ally (roommate) and I packed up my car and started on the 3hour drive from Jersey to Maryland. I dropped her off that afternoon with the promise that she would pick me up at 7pm and we would commence to go get my triangle pierced.

Upon arriving at the shop, I was amazed. I had never seen it so busy. Jimi soon spotted us however, and took me into the back room where (with the help of BME) he proceeded to explain the different ways to pierce a triangle. We discussed which one would be the best for me and he then went to set up the room while Ally and I hung out on the overstuffed chairs in the lobby.

Mystic finally calmed down, and Ally, Matt and I went into the room where Jimi was waiting. I dropped trou, and hopped up on the table where Jimi proceeded to disinfect my vagina. He explained to all of us what he was doing the entire time and then went to clamp me. That didn't work so well...it took a couple minutes to get the clamp on as my either my body or the clamp or both were not cooperating. Once everything was secure however, Jimi had me take a deep breath and hold it as he slid the needle through (as I was to find out later) 34 layers of flesh.

It hurt. It hurt a lot. It hurt a lot more than my hood did. I believe I muttered something unintelligible with a long string of curses that made everyone in the room laugh. Jimi went ahead and inserted the jewelry (a barbell) and that hurt too. But as Jimi showed me the piercing in a mirror, I was ecstatic. There was some blood, which Jimi went ahead and cleaned with a q-tip (that scared me until Jimi told me just how many layers of flesh the needle had gone through). He then took pictures for his records and portfolio and took a Polaroid for me, remarking how well it looked with my hood as I worked on regaining my composure.

Then I moved. Bad Idea, I was REALLY sore. Jimi chuckled as I jerked in pain while trying to put my clothes on, and told me that it would continue to ache for a few days. He gave me a zinc-based triple antibiotic ointment for aftercare, and went and got me an icy pop as I waddled over to the overstuffed chairs and slowly lowered myself into one. We hung out at the shop for a little while and then made our way home.

I had no problems with healing other than a little (expected) bleeding the first night, and some occasional pain the first week when I moved the wrong way too quickly. I had it rechecked when I came home for spring break to make sure everything was healing properly. On the table once again, I asked Jimi about the placement, as it is much lower than most of the triangles pictured on BME. He explained, using a mirror and q-tip, that I couldn't have had it pierced directly behind my clit, as my inner labia are too small there and he wanted to make sure there would be no risk of tearing during sex or other rough activities. He also used the q-tip to show me exactly what the piercing would do and where it would press/stimulate during sexual activities.

We discussed doing another piercing horizontally in front/right on top of my clit (a kind of modified piercing, doesn't really have a name yet) so that I would have one above (hood), one below (triangle), and one right on top, but that'll be another story when I get it done.

I had been worried that because of the low placement it wasn't a real triangle piercing, but Jimi assured me that it was, as it still goes through the three parts (inner labia, clitoral shaft, inner labia) that make the name, and make it a triangle, thus absolving my fears. It may not look the same as everyone else's, but on me, its just right.
