Looking at pictures on BME, I decided that my next piercings would be my tongue web and triangle. Once I get the idea in my head, I need to have it done right away. I went in to ask my piercer a few questions, like whether or not it would work with my vertical hood piercing (he said it would, but having a triangle moves everything out, so basically, the barbell in my hood might stick out funny) and two days later I was in the stirrups.

I had my hood pierced four months earlier (my first non earlobe piercing), and it hurt a lot more than I expected it would. It was such thin tissue, that I thought it couldn't possibly hurt. But since that gave such a nice sharp sting, I knew that my triangle would be much worse, considering how much tissue would be punctured. I was absolutely terrified.

My piercer is wonderful, he turns around when you get dressed and undressed, and lets you check in the mirror in privacy. He makes you feel comfortable, which is really nice. The last thing I needed was to be nervous about that as well. He had already seen it all, anyway because he had pierced my hood, navel and both nipples.

I had my tongue web done that day too, and he suggested that we do that one first, so I wouldn't have to sit on my new triangle while he pierced my tongue web. Doing the tongue web first, which went smoothly (a whole other story), actually eliminated my anxiety over the triangle.

First he explained that he might not be able to do it, depending on my anatomy, and he wouldn't know for sure until he could see it. (no, he couldn't specifically remember what I look like down there, four months later, and I think it would worry me if he did. :) ) He said it was more likely than not that he could, though. We discussed the gauge for my triangle, and decided to start with a fourteen (which was the smallest he would pierce it at), but I could stretch it up to a twelve later if I wanted to (and most women prefer a twelve), because triangles are easy to stretch. He went over aftercare. He recommends using urine to clean the piercing (it's a natural disinfectant, sterile to your own body), and bathing in epsom salts. And then it was time to go.

So I got undressed and hopped up on the table. He told me that I was suited for the piercing (YAY!) and explained the procedure. Clamp, needle, jewellery, just like everything else. He poked around a little, and put on the clamp, which was rather uncomfortable. Breathe in on one, out on two, in on three, and YEEEOOOWWWCH on four. I won't lie. It hurt a lot. And I have a very high tolerance for pain. I was worried that it would hurt all over again when he put the ring through (I remember how difficult it was not to close my knees on his head when he put the jewellery in my hood) but it didn't hurt at all. He took a few pictures (with my permission), then I hopped off the table to look in the mirror, (it was beautiful) and there wasn't a twinge of pain! When I had my hood pierced, it stung afterward. But with my triangle, I couldn't feel it at all for the rest of the day, although, to be honest, I was terribly stimulated.

The next day, I paid for the lack of pain I had experienced the day before. Walking was painful. So was sitting. It bled a little bit, but nothing major. It was swollen, too, which made the barbell in my hood stick out a lot and look really weird, but once the swelling went down, the two piercings looked fine together. They do have a tendency to rub together, though. The ring in my triangle twists and turns and gets caught on the barbell in my hood. But I'm sure that a change of jewellery will solve that.

It has now been almost two weeks since my experience and it still sore on and off, but not unbearably. I haven't had a chance to "try it out" yet, but I don't think I want to be doing that for a while. Sex could be very painful and detrimental. I'm glad I got this done now while I'm single, so I'm not tempted to do anything before it's safe and comfortable.

For anyone in Saskatoon, I would highly recommend getting pierced by Jason at Divine. He's experienced and competent and he's also a nice person, the environment is clean and professional, and everything is sterile. I wouldn't let anybody else near me with a needle.
