May 22nd, 2009:

A few years ago I remember looking through the BME galleries when I stumbled across some photos of outer labia piercings. I loved the way it looked, especially when there were a few rings on each side. At that moment I knew I wanted them, but it has taken me a long time to actually start that project. Over the years I have been pierced a number of times, but still had yet to go below the belt. This past month I have known that I was going to go in soon to start, but it was just all a matter of timing. Yesterday I decided that I was going to book an appointment with my piercer in Vernon, BC. I went to JP Gagnon, at Five Fathoms Tattoo. I wanted him to do it more than anyone because he has done the majority of my piercings and he is always professional and takes his time so everything is marked perfectly.

I shaved last night so that it would make it easier for him to see what he was doing and make the marks. I ended up getting into town a little earlier than expected, so I had a bite to eat and tried to ease my mind. I was very nervous, since I had never received a piercing down there before. All the experiences I had read on BME stated that this was one of the most painful piercings they have ever gotten, so I was expecting the worst. As soon as I entered the shop I felt much better, because the atmosphere is lovely there. JP had just finished a piercing, and he came out and talked to me.

We talked about the procedure a little bit, and he showed me the jewelry he thought would be appropriate. We decided on two 12 gauge rings, and he grabbed two different diameters to see which one would work best with my anatomy. I took a seat, and he went to the back to set up all his supplies. Shortly after he came out and we walked together to his station. Before anything else he talked to me again, went over what he was going to do, he told me what to expect with healing and such. Overall he was very supportive, and talking to him about the procedure really eased my mind about the whole thing. He turned his back, and finished setting up while I undressed and sat up on the table. We made small talk, of course, which also eased my mind.

I had to put my feet up on the stirrups, which felt a little funny at first. JP was very professional though, so I felt comfortable. He took his time marking, and probably about 15 minutes passed. He marked out as if he was going to do the whole ladder, just so I could see what the placement would look like overall. After marking and looking, I decided that three on each side would look lovely and I would start with getting the two middle ones today. JP marked the entrance and exit holes for the each ring, which again took a lot of time. Marking is what took up most of the procedure, which is why I really like going to JP to get pierced. He's a bit of a perfectionist, and I love it.

The clamps went on, the left side first, and all I felt was a little bit of pressure. I relaxed my body, and let my head rest against the back of the seat. JP told me we were going to breath together, one deep breath in and then let it out and.. Bam! First one is in. It was the most intense feeling I have experienced. I think I may have grunted a little bit on the exhale. It was not the worst pain I have felt from a piercing, however. What I felt was a very intense sharp pain, and then nothing. Looking down I could see the needle through my flesh and I felt accomplished. There was a bit of a sting as he followed through with the ring, and then it was done. He tightened the ring a bit, but decided to leave the ball for last. I had a few minutes to recuperate, and then we started the right side. Clamps went on, took a deep breath, and then I felt the intense sharp pain briefly again. My whole body felt like it was on fire, in a good way of course. I had finally done it, after years of wanting these piercings I finally had them.

He popped the balls in quickly, and then cleaned me up. The left side bled a little bit, and was slightly inflamed, but other than that it was great. I felt nothing. No pain. Amazing! After he cleaned me up I got dressed, paid him and gave him a nice tip since he had done a wonderful job. We hugged, and I was on my way!

I did not notice the jewelry very much. After a little while of walking, I noticed I walked a little bit like a cowboy. I'm really glad I wore underwear! It definitely helped hold everything in place. Also, sitting is no trouble at all.

It has been almost three hours since I have had them pierced, and I do not even notice them at all right now. Of course, I have already been checking myself out with a mirror, and I absolutely love how it looks. Once these are healed up, I'm going to go back and get another two done. Depending on how these heal, I may even go for getting four done in the sitting. We will see how things go.

To anyone who wants to get their outer labia pierced, I would say that if you know you really want it then you should do it. All the experiences I read said it was extremely painful, but for me it was not that bad at all. Everyone is different, and believe me if you really want them you will not regret getting them done. I can't wait until these are healed so I can play with them. Also, to anyone in the Okanagan area looking to get pierced my recommendation would be JP Gagnon at Five Fathoms Tattoo, it's at 3222 30th ave, Vernon BC. He's been piercing for a while so he knows what he's doing, but not only that he's very professional and will make sure that the piercing you get will look how you want it.

Thanks for reading!
