Having had many piercings before this one, you would think I wouldn't be nervous or worried. Every time I go to get a piercing, be it unusual or simple, I get adrenaline rushing through me and I get very anxious. It gets no better with time.

He suggested a fourchette piercing. I'd never heard of it before, and he explained that it was the area of skin just under the 'entry hole', and I was quite fascinated by this. He explained in detail what was done and left me feeling good about it, and went home to do a bit of research of my own to make sure I was fully wised up before I made a definite decision.
So I got to work and had a search on BME for other pictures and stories, and when I felt content with the amount of information I had on the piercing, I messaged him and arranged to go down to the shop on a day he was working. I went with a friend who had decided to get booked in on the same day for a tattoo, and as the piercing is done downstairs, it's more of a first-come first-served policy. So after waiting a while, my friend was called upstairs for her tattoo, which meant I had to wait til she was finished before I could go get my piercing as I was watching her son.
The longer I waited, the more excited and nervous I got about it. I just wanted to get it over with, if nothing else. Eventually, her session was over and it was time for me to go. First thing he did was put on some fresh gloves and clean up. He put a largely folded wad of tissue on the bed for me, because as he put it, 'there's nothing like lying in a big wet patch for ten minutes to get you pissed off'.
He applied the anaesthetic, and I had a sudden flashback to when I got my VCH piercing. I was on fire. Feels like mild cystitis...my ass!!
After the initial shock and burning sensation, the numbing took effect and I was more relaxed. It's still a peculiar thing, having somebody poking around between your legs with a needle. Not a natural occurrence for me anyways!
We had agreed on a 14ga BCR, there wasn't an awful lot of skin to work with so it was slightly fiddly for him, only having two hands, so I held myself in place while he focused on just the actual piercing of the skin itself. He begged me not to flinch or move and I assured him I was fine, and I wouldn't move regardless of the possible pain.
He said he was ready to go for it so I started our regular breathing techniques, and after four deep breaths, he told me he was going through on the next one. So I take an extra deep breath in, and thought he'd decided to go on the next breath. I asked him if he'd done it yet, and he said yes.
I believe my next words were 'are you shitting me??', I was *very* pleasantly surprised to find that I felt no pain at all, and had him take some photos of the plastic tube in place. Then he placed the BCR and took a couple more photos for me, and I instantly fell in love with it! It's perfectly placed and it looks amazing. Once again, my favourite man has done me proud!
I was given advice on aftercare, he didn't need to write it down because I'm pretty wised up on what I need to do. He still managed to remind me that wee is the best aide to healing. Once again, I managed a good laugh at this. The image in my head was bloody fantastic! But anyways, enough of that.
It only happened earlier today, so I'm still hoping I get no problems with healing. All my others have healed amazingly so fingers and toes are crossed! I've heard a few things about the cheesecutter effect, and although the jewellery is thicker than most that have caused the effect, my skin around that area is quite susceptible to tearing. Childbirth did me no favours.
We're now looking at beefing up my VCH to an 8ga, possibly increasing it further eventually. Shall keep you updated on the progress of my ever increasing piercing numbers!
