I had been thinking about getting a genital piercing for a while.

I wanted a vertical but I didn't do the research and went to a dodgy place. I didn't like the horizontal he gave me (long story) and only had it a few days. Since then I've been deciding what to get and which studio to go to.
Since it's a pretty big deal to get one of these and because I had been 'stung' by a dodgy piercer in the past, like so many on this site, I did my research. I looked online at a number of sites, yay for google, and decided I wanted a Christina. I just love the way it looks.
I emailed Hamish, the owner of Fleshwound, after looking at the website and he quickly replied with information on pricing, how it is done, aftercare and so much more. He answered all my questions in detail so that nothing was left as a surprise. The website said that the Christina is prone to rejection, which is true, but Hamish informed me in the emails that they take very well when the bar is made of flexible bio compatible material. Therefore Fleshwound use Bio flex.
As I live 2 hours away from the piercing studio, I booked my appointment by email. I was so excited about my decision I couldn't wait another week (when I was going to Wellington anyway). I jumped right in and made the appointment for the next day.
The next morning I drove to Wellington, and took a close friend with me. When i arrived Hamish was ready for me. He took me through the paperwork, which he had already completed, apart from the questions I had to answer. I answered the questions saying that I am over 18, had eaten, had not had alcohol or mind altering drugs, and a number of other questions that ensure my health and safety, and I signed it.
He took me into the piercing room. It was spotless, and had the fragrance of hospital disinfectant. All the instruments were in sterile packages. He prepared the tray with all kinds of instruments. He did explain to me what everything was, but as I was VERY nervous most of what he said went straight over my head.
Hamish explained to me that the piercing itself would be very quick, but the preparation would be lengthy. He said to take my pants off and climb up onto the seat. It was the kind of seat you would find at the gyno clinic. He had put down protective tissue stuff on the seat.
Every time he did anything he clearly explained what he was doing and why.
He examined me to make sure the bar, 14g bioflex surgical plastic, would fit. It did. He then cleaned me thoroughly with the same stuff doctors use. He then marked me. My anatomy made this a little tricky but he explained everything he was doing and made me feel very comfortable even though it took a while. He showed me with a mirror and checked I was happy with the placement. I was.
He then clamped me. This, to be honest, was the worst part. The clamp was a bit tricky to place because of my particular anatomy, and he had to manipulate the placement a wee bit and that was very uncomfortable.
During the whole time he was doing this he had told me to breath deeply in order to relax my body and help with the pain. When he was happy with the clamp he took the needle. I felt it against my skin which was a little unnerving. He said to breath deeply, and quickly pushed the needle through. I let out a loud gasp.
It felt, uhm, startling. Not so much painful. It felt kindof like I was tearing, but it didn't burn, and it wasn't intense. Pushing the jewellary through was a little stingy. Removing the clamp also hurt a little as it was tight and that is a sensitive area. It wasn't bad though. Mostly uncomfortable.
Since the bar is bioflex, the balls are not screwed on, but pushed on tightly. I had the option of jewels, but went for simple stainless steel for the time being.
The was quite a bit of blood. But Hamish cleaned that all up.
He photographed it, as I agreed to let him use the pics for his website.
It has now been a week and the piercing is healing well. It doesnt hurt much. By the end of the day it's a little tender (the effect of being on my feet all day) but a warm shower and saline soak makes the world of difference.
It heals really quickly too since it's just tucked away inside my pants, it doesnt get "played with" (much, hahaha).
Very sexy. Easy healing. Get one!!!
