I had never thought about getting my clit pierced before this summer. I thought piercings like that were for strippers and nasties. As it turns out, I made a few friends at my new job earlier this summer and found out before I went back to school that they had their VCH done. The idea intrigued me and I thought about it in depth. I am in the military so visible tattoos and piercings are a no-go. I hate needles in any form, but I love holes in my body that I can decorate with shiny things. My VCH gave me the option of "sticking it to the man" while not getting in trouble for it. My VCH piercing is my bad girl binge that I cannot normally walk around showing.

When I got back to school, I met a boy and he loved the idea. I did some research on the web and most of the entries I read sounded like some sort of Texas Chainsaw nightmare of the genitals. I did not find this site which, now that I've been reading around, probably would have helped me in advance. I tried to focus in on the stories from girls who said it felt nice and didn't sting. They were lying.

I finally picked a day to call the local tattoo parlor. The guy who does the piercings is very nice and very qualified. He told me to come on in and said he would even stay late so there wasn't anyone else in the place. I almost chickened out, but my boy came home and packed me into the car before I could freak out.

My piercing ending up costing $60 for the barbell and I got it done for free. Make sure you pay good money for the ring because you don't want a cheap metal in there to get it infected. Especially since it's in a constantly moist area notorious for germs and bacteria. Also, do not be afraid to check out the needles and ask the piercer to put on clean gloves in front of you. I did. I watched him wash his hands and I saw him put the gloves on. I also asked him to pull the needles out in front of me. Those horror stories about Hepatitis and the such stem from truthful accounts of uncleanliness.

I was shaking so bad when I went in to get it. I went into the back and looked at a book of piercings. Nothing really registered. My brain sort of went on standby from that point out. I pulled my shorts down and put my legs up so he could get the placeholder in and mark my hood. He told me to lean back and had my boy talk to me to keep my brain off of it. I was in the middle of a sentence when he shoved the needle through. I screamed the F-bomb and a few other choice words. Then he proceeded to put the ring in and I screamed a little more. It was over then.

I sat up and he started telling me care instructions for the next couple of weeks. He had to stop because I got really cold and started to black out. Apparently, some girls' bodies take the piercing as a trauma and try to shut down. I was one of those lucky girls. He let me lie down with a wet rag for a few minutes to calm down and told me to take it easy for a few days. I had my guy run next door and grab me a ginger ale. The feeling passed after about 20 minutes and I was able to walk to the car without a stretcher. I did not get any anesthetic and I did not know that option was available. It really helps the piercing process as a whole if you have someone there who can help baby and take care of you.

As a side note: you do have to be sober when you go in and sign the release form. You also have to remain sober for the piercing. In my ultimate genius, I thought I could go in, sign the release, and booze it up to make the pain weak, but they won't let you do that. So don't try. Half the fun is saying you lived through it and making it out to be way worse than what it was.

I have had my piercing for almost 4 months now and I love it. It healed perfectly. I did not have one single problem with it while it was healing. It stopped hurting about an hour after I got it done and as long as I didn't bump it the first 2 weeks, it was relatively unnoticeable outside of intimate circumstances. This was good for me because it just accentuates my personality. I feel naughty for lack of a better word and I'm in much better shape because walking up stairs is so much more fun than it used to be if the barbell rubs the right way. My boyfriend even named it "Cupcake" because he thinks it looks sweet.

Things can go wrong and you could potentially never have an orgasm again if this is done incorrectly. So make sure you look up the best piercer and don't feel pressured into doing something you don't feel comfortable doing. Overall, I had an interesting experience and I feel good about it.
