I was pierced today and because I'm the biggest needle phobic in the world I wanted to share my experience with others. I was interested in a vertical hood piercing because of all the positive information I had found about the sexual stimulation of it, the quick healing, and easy experience. Everything I have read was about right. After researching for approximately two days, (I am an impulsive person) I found approximately 75% said that there was no real pain, and the other 25% said it hurt like hell for a few seconds. Dusty explained the after care instructions to me in great detail (longer than the actual piercing) which stressed to me the importance of proper care. Wash your hands before and after you urinate, clean it twice daily, no oral contact, no pools or hot tubs (this part sucked) and because he is a masters level microbiologist, the fear of infection from bacteria was stressed. There is really not that much to remember though and it is basically for only three / four weeks and then you can back off on the germ paranoia a little bit.
Dusty's office was clean and he showed me that everything that sterile (not clean....but sterile). That put me more at ease. I went to Biotech because I had found reviews and stories about the procedure and everyone was pleased with him. He was very personal and professional and his training and experience made him the only candidate that I would trust with my most precious area. Dusty went as far to explain the importance of placing the receiving tube at the base of the hood to ensure the ring would properly situate itself against my clitoris to further enhance stimulation. Dusty has done over 800 piercings (female genital) and knows his stuff. He explained the importance of the right gauge and the proper material (jewelry) for health reasons and long lasting effects.
I would rate Dusty a 10 on a scale of 1 - 10! Thanks Dusty.
Because I am terrified of needles and the moments before I was pierced was worse than the actual piercing. Dusty was awesome and kept me at ease with breathing techniques, explained everything, and I broke my husbands hand in anticipation (just kidding). Dusty was also a bit afraid of needles (in himself - or at least he told me that...it worked either way) and has 19 self piercings himself. That made me feel better. Dusty explained everything, was extremely knowledgable (microbiologist) and I was sure I wanted to do it. He explained each step such as; cleaning right side, (betadine) cleaning left side, cleaning middle, putting the tube in, take a deep breath and over. The actual piercing did hurt and I yelled for about one second, and then he was finished and it didn't hurt anymore.
My husband is interested in a PA now (Prince Albert - actually he was interested two days ago when I decided to get a hood piercing) and today during my appointment he (Dusty) spent as much time talking with my husband about the procedure, after care, different types of male genital piercing and explained personal experiences with male genital piercings. My husband, who was very apprehensive, but did want to have the procedure done, felt much better after talking to Dusty. He is considering the pa, and well as other possibilities. My husband wants a piercing for the same reasons that I do; sexual stimulation, and the pure sexiness of it.
After leaving the office, my husband and I were instantly turned on and I could feel the stimulation without even touching the area (wow...fast results) and then went shopping for three hours. I would highly recommend this piercing to anyone interested. This is day one and I haven't tried it out sexually yet, but if the sensation that I have just sitting is improved any with actual stimulation, my poor husband better be prepared!
So basically the biggest wimp in the world survived and is already quite pleased with my decision, I hope this helps someone else.
