I had been thinking about getting a genital piercing for over a year. I guess it all started with those times glancing over my hubby's shoulder while he looked at Internet porn! He would say something like, "you should get that done; it would be 'cool' ". Well, I wasn't sure about cool, but it did intrigue me. I love sex (a lot), but about the weirdest thing I've ever done to myself was to shave my pubic hair. That, then, has become a staple.

Location New Orleans French Qtr, LA For many months, beginning in late March, I began to seriously consider a piercing. I did a lot of web research, read a lot of stories on BME, and decided on a VCH (vertical clitoral hood). At first I thought a ring would look nice, but figured a vertical bar would be less intrusive and much less apt to twist or otherwise bug me when I didn't want it to.
We live in an extremely rural part of our state, so finding a place to get pierced was not going to be easy I thought. There were a few major cities within driving distance, and at least one big college town. I managed to find a place in the latter. I called to ask a few questions, and they said they really did not recommend the VCH (and in fact tried to discourage me from getting one done) but endorsed a horizontal instead. That set me back a few weeks while I reconsidered my available options. Then, fate struck...
Friends of ours were planning on getting married. They decided to do so in the Grand Cayman Islands, during a cruise that was setting sail from New Orleans. Both my husband and me were invited to attend, so the next thing I know I'm going on a cruise! Best of all was the port of call. One of the web sites I visited during my Internet education was Rings of Desire (. Rings is located in New Orleans. My mind started to plot and plan.
I emailed Rings and asked a few questions about the VCH. Nearly immediately I received a reply from Elayne Angel, a Master Piercer from Rings of Desire. She was very helpful and was able to answer my numerous questions. My main fear was that my anatomy would not even harbor such a body modification. Angel asked me to email her some pictures. Hubby (who is a photographer) happily obliged. Angel even suggested we "measure" the inside of the hood with a Q-tip and photograph that as well. Angel was able to do an email-consultation based upon the images. She seemed to think I would be perfect for such a mod. I told her when we'd be in town, and she said to just stop by; no appointment necessary.
The day finally came, late October 2004. We had spent a week in the Caribbean, and fresh off the ship drove down to the French Quarter and walked to the shop. It was still early, and they were not open yet (being the Big Easy, nothing opens much earlier than noon). We had lunch at a café across the street (Angel suggested a full stomach), and then did some sight seeing. As the noon hour approached, we went on in.
Rings of Desire is located upstairs off a Decatur Street shop. We climbed the stairs and were greeted by a very friendly counter clerk. The place was very clean and tidy. This made me feel much more comfortable. Angle hadn't arrived yet, but we looked at jewelry and gleaned some more information from the man behind the counter. I picked out a surgical steel curved bar along with titanium and blue anodized ball ends. I filled out the necessary paperwork, and waited. At this point I was pretty nervous. It actually started to sink in, what I was preparing to do, as I was eating brunch. Now, it was really setting in! My husband had paid for it all, about $85 including the jewelry, so I guess there was no turning back!
Very soon afterwards Angel arrived. I instantly recognized her from seeing her in an online video detailing the VCH procedure. Within minutes, I was led to the piercing table. The area was immaculately clean and sanitized; very similar to my doctor's exam room. I wore a short dress skirt and panties for ease. Angel had me take my panties off and get up on the table. She talked to me the whole time and told me exactly what she was doing/going to do. No surprises. I laid back and propped my feet up. She checked my hood and said I was perfect for the procedure. Next, she marked the spot for the needle and sanitized the skin with Betadine.
During all this she talked to me about different types of jewelry and that it may take some time to find what I really liked. Angel couldn't tell me what was best, but said the research is fun! All the while I was lying there, grasping the sides of the exam table and staring at the ceiling. I kept thinking to myself, "please don't kick her when the needle goes in!" Angel started the actual procedure by gently pulling my skin away from the hood somewhat, to loosen it up some I guess. She warmed up the needle receiving tube. Angel explained the rest of the piercing tome saying it would be over in an instant. "Sort of like getting my ears pierced" I stated. "Yes," she replied, "but more fun!" Keep breathing and I'll take care of the rest she lamented. She had me take one deep breath, and it was done!
I didn't scream, and I didn't kick. I think I did better than a lot of women in the Rings of Desire video clip! It was a shock, but only lasted a second, if that. As soon as Angel said, "it's over" I thought to myself, I just got pierced! The pain was gone immediately after the needle was out. She had my jewelry installed in a flash and it was over. No blood to speak of. The whole piercing from needle to jewelry in took 8 seconds (hubby videotaped it;-).
I was up and walking around in no time. It felt good! Again, no pain (and I have a low threshold for pain), and it looked beautiful! Angel gave me explicit aftercare instructions, including how to use the sea salt and Provone cleanser. And, she said, don't touch it with dirty hands! I got my picture taken with my piercer Angel, and we continued our exploration of New Orleans. Thanks, Angel!
It's been almost three weeks since the piercing. I have had no problems at all. I spot-bled for about two days, and that was it. It was never sore or tender except maybe when I cleaned it for the first few days. After that I could tell it was down there but it never was uncomfortable. It's beautiful! And, whenever I wear tight jeans (or even cut the grass on the riding mower) WOW! And sex really "hits the spot" even more than before.
This has been a very interesting and enjoyable experience for me. I am glad I had the opportunity to meet Angel at Rings of Desire, and highly recommend their services and this most unique piercing. When it completely heals, I'll try and post some images of the piercing here.
