My experience with my first genital piercing:

So I had been thinking about getting a new piercing for a while seeing I had just graduated high school and got lots of money from family. I needed to get something that could be hidden easily because I had also just got finished with my EMT class and was going to be looking for a job as an EMT-Basic. Therefore I needed to worry about my appearance. This brought me to thinking about either getting my nipples pierced, an anti-navel, a scrotal, or a pubic piercing.

As you can see I decided on the pubic piercing. I had been looking and reading about them for a good month or so when my friend introduced me to BME. Plus I had gone to the tattoo studio a week before the piercing to get a tattoo on my chest and talked to the piercer about the pubic and scrotal piercing I was thinking of doing. He told me the normal price is around $100 and he went into detail about the risks of getting the pubic piercing and told me it had the same risk as any other surface piercing.

So I thought it over and kind of acted on it at a spur of the moment. I told my parents where I was going and why (very awkward and funny, but not too bad seeing I have a very close relationship with my family) then I called up my friend who I had brought to get his labret done a few days before to the same place (took it out 5 hours later because he didn't realize how annoying it would be to have one so low even though the piercer told him it would rub against his gums) and told asked him to come with me to get my pubic piercing after he got off work at around 9:00 pm. He laughed a little and asked if I was seriously going to man up to this and do it (seeing as we talked about getting it done, but never actually planned it out). He said he would love to go and watch.

So the whole drive up there I was nervous as hell, thinking man I'm going to be the only damn kid around here with a genital piercing. This is going to lead to some great conversations and jokes (which it has). We finally get there and I talk to the piercer and tell him I'm looking to get a pubic piercing and he was really stoked about doing it. He asked if I knew what kind of jeweler y I would like. I told him I wasn't completely sure and he went through about the different types of jewelry I could use and the differences in them. He recommended a curved barbell and I agreed. Then he asked if I knew what gauge I would like. I told him lets go with the standard 14gauge. Then me and my friend waited and joked with the tattoo artist while the piercer cleaned the work station and prepped everything. Then he came out and showed the jewelry he was going to use.

So we went into the piercing area, a nice little built glass room with mini blinds for privacy. Very clean I should add. I was really nervous and my friend was helping very much, but I wouldn't expect anything different from him. The piercer helped calm me down with support and stories of his own experiences while he was getting ready and setting up.

So I laid down on the chair, still having a great conversation, and pulled my pants down just enough so he can align everything. I then checked out the placing of where he was going to put it and thought it was great. Then he opened up the clamps and needle and told me the clamping was going to hurt (which it really fucking did). So I'm still having a good conversation with the piercer and my friend saying how bad this is going to suck, but the piercer again reassured me that this piercing wasn't very painful. Then as soon as he had the clamps just right it was one quick breath and it was pierced. Then he slid the jewelry through and attached the beads. The piercing felt different than my ears. It was smoother, like slicing warm butter. It was actually a little pleasuring along with the endorphin rush.

So I got up and I checked and out and I loved it. There wasn't much bleeding, but there was some. So I paid the piercer (he only charged me $60, instead of $80) and gave him a nice tip. Then I walked around in the shop a little and waited to calm down so I could drive home. There was no pain and it was very comfortable actually, but I did wear a belt to hold my pants up higher so it didn't hit the piercing. My friend said the piercing process did not look very painful and he really like the way it looked. Then my friend decided he wanted to get his labret redone so he did and that process was just as clean and easy. Then my friend paid the guy (this time he only charged $30 instead of $50 the first time) and gave him a nice tip again. The staff at the shop was amazing like always and we sat around playing Xbox until about 11:00 pm just talking about past experiences and how everyone got into being a tattoo artist and piercer. My friend talked to the piercer about an apprent ice ship and what he should do to learn more now. Then we headed home and sent in out pictures to BME.

So it's been about a week and it feels great. It was sore when I woke up for the first few days and had to be gentle when masturbating and having sex, but it is not painful. I am sore a little bit after wards, but the girlfriend said she enjoys it and can feel it during intercourse. I haven't really hit it doing everyday things, but I did yank on it pretty hard when I was going to piss the other day. It hurt like a bitch, but the pain went away after a few seconds, I cleaned up the drop of blood and it was fine.

So if you are thinking about getting a pubic piercing I recommend it highly. It was not very painful, has the same risks as any surface piercing, there are many different options for jewelry, it has not been a hassle what so ever, and everyone loves it.
