I decided to get my first piercing as a penis piercing because it is easier to "cover up". I work as a firefighter/paramedic and a flight paramedic. Both jobs that frown upon piercings, tattoos etc. due to the perceived nature of them. I did a lot of research as to what type of piercing and it kept coming back to a PA. Seems to be the fastest to heal from accounts I had read and also "seemed" less painful according to these same accounts. I kept putting it off and putting it off for months it seemed even after I had made the choice to do it. I finally just decided to go as I was driving past All Star Tattoo in University City, MO just outside of St. Louis, MO. I just knew that if I didn't do it right then and there i'd keep putting it off and never get it done.

Just said ok, handed me the waiver, and said the piercer would be right out. I think his name was Rob but in my paranoia about getting my penis pierced i didn't pay nearly as close attention as I should have. I ended up having to wait for about 30 minutes as there were others waiting to get pierced ahead of me for one thing or another. This just built up my tension even more.
Finally they called me up, and I went into the piercing room. My piercer was very professional throughout. asked me what I knew about the piercing I wanted and then filled in the blanks about what I didn't know or misunderstood. He asked me again if I wanted to do it and I said yes. Then he went out got his stuff, came back in, and prepared his sterile field. He is an EMT so that comforted me as we are in the same field. He cleaned the head of my penis with a solution, I'm not sure what. Initially he was going to pierce me with a 14 but I told him i preferred something larger and he agreed with a 12g captive bead ring. I regret not getting something I can screw off and on but I'm going to wait till next time when I stretch to a 10 or 8g ring.
Then came the uncomfortable part. He threaded the receiving tube into my urethra. This was uncomfortable but not super painful. I was not crying in pain or anything close to that. It was just uncomfortable. I did not watch any of this as I wanted to just lay back and let him do what he needed to do. He then figured out where to pierce me. i don't know if he marked it or what he did. then he told me to do the breathing thing, counted to three and pierced me with one shot. It was a very fierce almost burning pain of about a 10 on a 10 pain scale that lasted maybe 3-4 seconds then dropped down to maybe a 3-4 on a 10 scale for the next couple of minutes. He wrapped me up with a gauze and a glove over my penis as he warned me i'd bleed for the first day or two. I then went and paid up and tipped him.
This was rather an easy experience for me. i didn't find it extremely painful and would do it again. The next couple of hours I just felt a throbbing pain there. then I started bleeding. My piercer told me to drink lots of fluids to avoid any blood clots. I peed a ton and surprisingly it didn't hurt. It actually felt good to pee. I ended up having zero pain by the end of the next day. Only time it would hurt is if I bumped it or it got pulled. I also found at night when I'd have an erection during sleeping I would experience pain due to stretching, it is almost as if the circumference of the piercing was not large enough for what it should have been to accommodate the growing that I experience during an erection. I did bleed...A LOT of bleeding actually. Like scary amount for two days strong. Then it is like a switch was thrown and it turned off. then didn't see any except very occasionally.
Now the real question people ask. Sex. Yes i've had it since and I've had no complaints from my wife and I didn't feel any pain per say. Once I did feel pain but just put more lube on and then didn't have any more pain. So all good. Also on the urinating front there is not much too it. I can pee in a urinal without issue I just have to lean into it. as far as peeing into the toilet at home I just sit and pee. I can stand doing it but I have to hover over as i do dribble a little bit coming down the ring. all in all it is a non issue.
All in all I'd highly recommend this piercing if you are thinking about it.
