I don't want to bore you with a tedious back story, but I suppose a little info might help. I've always liked piercings. I think they're sexy on women, and even guys can look really cool with them. Until this year though, I hadn't seriously considered getting any myself, but then I started thinking about it more. And then, for whatever reason, I had the crazy idea of possibly getting my dick pierced. I thought it'd be funny to look all nice and normal, but then secretly have a rather risqué piercing. Plus, I figured if I was going to get into piercings, I might as well not pussy foot my way into it, and get the "scary" one over with first.

I was definitely thrown off by that, but the tattoo shop was just down the road, and I figured I might as well stop mulling over it, and just do it already. So we set off walking. I'm trying to act cool, but really, my mouth is dry and I have butterflies in my stomach. But I didn't puss out. When we finally arrived, I was so fucking nervous. Then.......
We notice the "CLOSED" sign. Whew! A mixture of relief and letdown washed over me. Haha! Anyway, long story less long, I stalled getting it for a couple months. I took that time to actually do research on BME, and read the many first hand accounts, etc. I quickly became much more comfortable with getting a Prince Albert. Finally, a week or so after my birthday, I called that chick, and told her I was ready to get it. She had previously agreed to take me, since I didn't want to drive or walk myself, for fear of possible bleeding. So she came and picked me up and we went over to Heart-n-Soul.
The piercer (Zoey) was really nice, and even mentioned that Prince Alberts aren't actually that uncommon. I got a laugh out of that. So I signed the release form, and went into a little room with a table; kind of like a doctors office... except this was a tattoo parlor. So I whip my dick out, and was slightly appalled to see that it was about as small as it could possibly be. I actually wasn't very nervous at this point , but I guess my dick felt otherwise...
[Side note: This was probably a blessing in disguise, as I have a feeling this was the main reason why I didn't have any bleeding.]
What was I saying? Oh yeah, so I put the blue paper dentist's bib thing with a hole torn out, over my dick, lay down, and she goes over the procedure, which I pretty much knew from reading stuff here. She wiped my dick down with some antiseptic, and proceeded to put the receiving tube in, which I'll admit did burn a little. Then she pierced my dick. I can honestly say it didn't hurt that bad. I didn't even flinch. Since this was my first piercing, I have nothing to really compare it to. I'd describe it as a very brief, sharp stinging, and then it was over. I can imagine it felt like poking a hole through any other piece of skin.... except it happened to be the underside of my cock. Heh. She put the jewelry on, and I looked down with gleeful satisfaction and remarked, "That is so fucking cool!" I zipped my shorts back up, paid the $50, thanked Zoey, and left with a giddy grin on my face.
It healed beautifully, took maybe 3-4 weeks at most. In fact, it's sort of a misnomer, because I experienced absolutely no bleeding, swelling, discoloration, or any other imaginable problem. I only noticed some slight irritation during the second week after, which I assume was from the actual healing of the tissue. After that, it wasn't uncomfortable at all, to the point that I actually forgot it was there sometimes.
She pierced it with a 14g captive bead ring (I was surprised, after reading many accounts of getting 8-10g), which I later swapped out for a 12g curved barbell. With the ring, I did indeed experience some "fanning" while urinating. I remedied this by simply twisting my dick sideways so the stream didn't flow down the curve. Also, I popped the bead out one time, and it took me 2 hours, and two pairs of pliers to get the damn thing back in. I'm much happier with the barbell (7/16"). Peeing is 100% normal now, and "other" activities are easier too. Aesthetically, I just think it looks better: more discrete and tasteful. Also now I can unscrew it and take it out whenever I like. I might go down a couple more gauges, but I won't go crazy with it.
I've had it for a few months now, and don't regret it at all. I'm eager to get more piercings now (eyebrow, labret, small ear gauges, maybe even my tongue, etc.), and thanks to my first experience, I'll have nothing to be scared of. Thanks BME! :D
