For many years I have been intrigued by body piercings, first seeing Gauntlet's PFIQ magazine many, many years ago and then discovering BMEzine. I was married at the time and my wife would never have understood my interest and so I kept it secret. Fast forward to the spring of 2008 and newly single I decided to explore and indulge this idea of body piercing. During those years of curiosity I had often wondered which body piercing I really wanted to own. I decided on a PA – I thought it looked great and I was curious about how sex would be with a PA. I researched various studios on-line and settled on Warrior Piercing in Philadelphia. Dropping in to the store one Saturday I asked a lot of questions – what size ring, preparation, aftercare, healing, etc. I was satisfied with all the answers and most importantly the studio looked spotless.

I went back the next Saturday for the actual event. I can honestly tell you I was very nervous about the pain. I had read several experiences on BME and although most said it didn't hurt, I didn't believe them. I was convinced it would hurt like hell and the guys said it didn't because they wanted to sound macho. Well I dropped my pants and the piercer began. I had decided on a 8 gauge 5/8" captive bead ring. I couldn't bear to watch but a glimpse of the receiving tube which looked absolutely huge and the needle which looked pretty darn big too only made me more nervous. Fortunately before I had time to back out the piercer had me marked, the tube in and begun the piercing.

I don't know where in the process the pain began, whether it was in the insertion of the receiving tube or the actual needle itself but it hurt like hell. This long slow process seemed to last five minutes but in reality was likely just 60 seconds or so. I had watched several PA piercings on BMEVideo and none seemed to take long. The actual piercing looked sure, swift and well painless. That was not my experience. To be truthful I've had a number of very unpleasant medical procedures and surgeries and tolerated the pain and discomfort pretty well. But this PA procedure was no cake walk. I don't know if the piercer did it slow and deliberate unlike what I had seen in the videos. I just know it seemed to go on forever.

The bleeding was minor and I drove home with only some minor discomfort. The healing process was straight forward. I did the requisite sea salt soaks and things progressed just fine. Some discomfort to be sure for the first few weeks but eventually all was well.

I enjoyed playing with the ring. I haven't experienced the spraying effect others talk about unless I misunderstand. What I've experienced is more of a big dribble running down the bottom of the ring and spilling out of the toilet bowl or urinal. Most times I sit to pee but often I just stand and all's fine. One thing I did notice is that the bead kept slipping quite far into my pee-hole. I would be alerted by a sensation and then adjust myself – which was a little awkward at work.

I moved to Toronto in the summer of 2008 and now that the PA was quite healed I was looking to stretch it up as well as start a scrotal ladder but that's for another experience.

Again some research told me there were several shops on Queen Street West downtown and so that's where I headed. I found "Adrenaline" and it was just what I was looking for. I met Kat and clicked with her. Professional and sure of her self I discussed what I wanted and she made me feel at ease.

I wanted to do some shopping on Queen street and so told her I'd be back in a couple of hours. Returning I was whisked into her room and she got prepped. We had decided earlier on a ¾" diameter captured bead ring. I was initially thought about a 1" dia but Kat persuaded me that a ¾": would be better and I'm glad she did. The actual stretch was not too much fun but it was over quickly. The ring out, taper in and bigger ¾" 6 ga ring in. Quick and sure. The discomfort was minor and I was sore for a few days. Again lots more sea salt soaks for the PA. She also started with 2 piercings of the scrotal ladder. Now 5 weeks hence the scrotal piercings are still weeping a bit but I hope they will clear up soon.

I plan to see Kat again in early November to stretch the PA to a 4 ga. As to the eventual size of the PA I'm not sure where that will end. I thought that a 4 ga would be fine but lately I've been thinking a 2 ga looks really hot.

When I go back in November I'll get three more scrotals too.
