I thought it was about time that I shared my experiences of 11 years with a PA. I was an avid reader of BME when I was researching my PA and feel that I need to give something back. When I look back it's interesting to consider why I went ahead and got the PA. To this day, I'm not really sure what made me do it but a magazine article containing pictures of genital piercing really fascinated me and made me think that I wanted to do the deed. 11 years ago, there were not many studios offering genital piercing in London but Metalmorphosis was one that did and that had been established for a while. The studio no longer exists in Soho but I believe the business is now operated out of the Selfridges department store. Whilst I don't remember the piercer's name, I do remember asking him how many PAs he'd done on men who come in wearing suits and him saying that most of his PA customers in fact do wear suits – so much for rebellion.

The bleeding was profuse for the first couple of hours but quickly reduced to spotting. The placement was perfect and as far as I am aware hasn't migrated at all. The hole is just to one side of the frenulum and about three mm away from the corona. I started at 10ga (or was it 12ga?) and over the course of the next few months stretched up to 4ga. What I found when stretching was that the area around the piercing got slightly sore for a couple of days before everything settled down again. I wouldn't suggest that anyone stays for long on any of the smaller sizes as these have a habit of pinching in a rather painful way. I particularly like the feeling of weight you get with a thicker ring and would thoroughly recommend stretching at least a couple of sizes. I also think that a thicker ring looks more dramatic when the meatus is di storted. I have experimented with other types of jewellery but have settled on CBRs as offering the best combination of weight and look.
Something that is rarely discussed is the internal diameter of the ring to be used. In my experience this is important. I found that a diameter that allowed the ring to be firmly held when the penis is erect without feeling constricted gave the best experience. In contrast, a large diameter ring could move about during sex and give a less satisfactory experience. I admit that this is my personal view, but I would recommend experimentation in this area to ensure that you have what is best for you.
About 3 years after the piercing I opted for a circumcision. Something that I regret not having done a lot sooner. Whilst it did not affect the PA experience much because the foreskin used to spend much of the tie retracted, the PA looks and feels for me much better now I have been circumcised.
Over time I have alternated between periods in which I have worn a ring and periods in which I have worn no jewellery. Despite the periods without jewellery extending for as long as 2 years, the hole has never fully closed up and as a result, I suspect it never would. The hole did reduce in size but it was easy to get back to the 4ga over the course of a couple of days. One of the great things about a PA is that you can take the jewellery out and leave it for a while without the hole closing up.
My wife thinks that the PA looks great and it has certainly improved sensitivity for both of us during sex. . It's difficult to say why, but perhaps the best way of describing it is to say that it makes the feeling more intense and focused. My wife is even now insisting that I leave the ring in for that reason and because she very much likes the look of it.
My wife has told more people about the PA than I have and consistently the reaction has been more subdued than expected. There have certainly been no "Oh my God, how could you / he" reactions although I can't say what has been said in private.
I quite like the idea of a dolphin but need to work out how to deal with the initially different hole sizes. I am also considering a further stretch to 2ga.
The only drawback is urinating which with the ring when standing can be haphazard and without it in requires the careful positioning of a finger over the hole.
In summary, getting a PA is a significant step to take because it is for many a permanent thing, but after 11 years I am very pleased that I got my PA and it is very much a part of who I am.
