First of all, this was my third piercing. First 2 were my nipples, which I have stretched to 4 gauge. I wanted something else, and without going facial. A few options: More on the nipples? No. I didn't want my nipples to seem like pin cushions. Navel? I'm sorry, I'm straight. Therefore, it's on to genitals. I had checked experiences on Tribalectic and BME, and looked at a few images of the Prince Albert, and others on Tribalectic, since BME won't let you without a membership. I had decided that I liked the regular Prince Albert the most out of all of the genital piercings.

I had gone to one place that did my tattoo, and one of them doesn't do them, and she had said that the one that does is in only on Monday and Saturday. I had gone to Omaha on the weekend, and was near the place that did my nipples. Not there, because I didn't like the placement on them after they're done. The place I'd trust most didn't do them. So, I went back to Sioux City. One of the 2 other places I visited didn't do them. The other one's guy was someone who gave me a bad gut feeling. So, it was the place that did my tattoo that I'd go to.
Finally, Monday comes. Going to college meant that I had to wait until later to get it done. Finally, the time came. So, I drove down to the shop. I knew I was nervous, because of the way I felt driving. Luckily, Michal, the piercer that did them, was there. After talking to her for a while, I felt more comfortable than I had at the other places. When looking at jewelry, we wanted one that was large enough. So I ended up getting pierced at 14 gauge, since they didn't have long enough jewelry and she wouldn't do a stretch immediately. So we wait a while so someone else can watch the rest of the shop. Finally, time got to do the piercing. I paid the $100 before the piercing, and before we went to work. She pulled out sterilized equipment, and changed gloves several times while doing this. The person who had done my nipples hadn't done that, and so I knew she was better. So, finally the time came to get it done. I dropped my pants, and she cleaned the area. At t hat time, I was a bit excited, mentally, physically, and in the pants, which was a bit different than a lot of the other people who end up smaller at the time. I think that in some ways, it actually helped having an attractive piercer, and it helped size the jewelry. Then, I got to lean back in the chair as she inserted the receiving tube. I would say that that was the worst part of it. She got the needle ready, and the normal, Breathe in, Breathe out, and it was pierced. I hadn't looked up yet to see the done piercing. So, finally she got the barbell in and cleaned up the area. Around that time, I could feel that it was fairly bloody. So, she cleaned it up, and used a few paper towels to wrap it and put the common glove on it to hold the towels.
Overall, for me the pain of the piercing breaks down like this:
50-70% was the receiving tube. That was the worst part.
20-40% was the needle. That wasn't that bad.
<10% other stuff. I barely felt her changing the needle to jewelry.
I had to walk a little bit back to my car, and could feel that I was walking a bit funny. That was the only oddity that I felt afterwards. I wasn't lightheaded, which is a bit surprising since I had a fair bit of blood coming out.
Maybe a half hour after the procedure, I had to do my first pee. I was anticipating the sting, but I didn't feel it. Nor any of the times following. The piercing is obviously there and I feel it, but I haven't had any troubles with it. Yet. I might try adjusting it for when I do go in a urinal. I don't think it will be that bad.
All in all, it wasn't horrible. The barbell will likely be replaced with a ring, and it will be a larger size, probably a 10 or 8 gauge. Was I nervous? Of course! Everyone should be a bit if they're going to have a needle going through their genital area...unless you've had a few other genital piercings done. Would I have had something else done? I'm glad I got a Prince Albert, and I can't complain. And I will be going back there for any other tattoos or piercings. I like the place, and I'd rather have a female do the piercings, too.
