A close friend of mine and I had been discussing what piercings to get next; we both expressed interest in penis piercings and I also knew a fellow with a foreskin piercing, so I felt safe in pursuing this mildly eye raising prospect. I had initially considered a foreskin piercing, but after numerous evenings taking out an earring and putting it on my penis to see how different placements looked, I decided that a Prince Albert was the best way to go.

I had purchased an 18 and 20 gauge ring, as well as appropriate-sized needles from mspiercing.com, though I felt silly when I read that the standard size for a PA is gauge 10. Oh well, I thought to myself. Make it small, and than you can enlarge it. I'd never had a penis piercing before, only ears and nose. It took a few nights to get the gumption to go through with it, and I ended up piercing the night before I went to work my local coffee shop job. This wasn't as much a problem as you would think, I wrapped my penis up in tissue and duct tape (hehehe) and went to work with a smile on my face.
The piercing itself went smoothly; I laid out my jewelry, needle, (still wrapped in sterile container)and copious amounts of tissues. I sterilized my hands, the piercing area, and the jewelry with rubbing alcohol. I did not have a receiving tube; I was flying blind so to speak. I ended up icing my penis with cold packs because I didn't know how intense the pain would be, and I didn't want to screw up the placement. I positioned the needle in the urethra, and aimed it so it would emerge about halfway between the tip of the head and the base. I am aware that PA's usually come out below the head of the penis, but I didn't trust myself to not nick the side wall of the urethra. The skin being pierced is incredibly tough, and the little razor sharp needle took a surprising amount of force behind it before going through. The sight of a glittering needle emerging from my shrunken penis almost made me laugh, and I thought; here is something you have done yourself, be proud. A nd I was, and I am!
It didn't bleed until the penis warmed up, and than little drops of blood, like tears, began to fall. I suppose Voltaire would make a song about it, perhaps called "Blood Tears for the Zombie Queen" but than again I may have signed my death warrant. The needle was hollow, and the ring fit inside the back of the needle, so all I did was to pull the needle through point first, and push the ring in immediately behind it. This procedure worked very well. I than soaked my penis in warm salt water, and I continued to soak it daily for the next week or so. My PA is with a smaller gauge and is not positioned as deep as a normal PA; nonetheless I did it, it looks and feels fine, and I'm happy.
Many people warn of excessive bleeding with this sort of piercing, but I experienced only some minor blood loss for the first three to four days. Urinating was a pain in the arse, but I was comforted by the fact that urine is sterile and was in fact, cleaning my new self-inflicted flesh wound. I still had to create a little condom out of tissue to absorb blood, especially for the first two days. After that, the bleeding stopped, and it was sensitive and sore for the next week or so, until I stopped noticing it. I did hear people say that it was important to keep the area dry, and not to allow urine to collect under the foreskin, assuming you are an uncircumcised male. I suppose circumcised men would have less trouble with this, but I had to get in the habit of keeping the piercing dry after I took a piss, which was easy with a bit of toilet paper.
I just recently put in a 16 gauge ring, and it went in smoothly. I plan to continue to enlarge the PA, but not much past a 10/12 gauge. All in all, this was a valuable asset to my piercing collection, and with the proper know-how and tools, it is relatively easy to do. I would recommend going to a professional to have this done if you have no experience piercing. I felt confident because I had pierced my two ear lobes and my nose on my own, and the PA was a gem to accomplish. Given my druthers, I would have located the piercing a little deeper, so the ring would emerge closer to the base of the penis head... but it's ok. People also talk about the ring affecting your taking a leak; that the urine will follow the ring and create two streams. For what ever reason, my penis did that sometimes anyway, with or without the ring in place. I simply have to be more careful peeing with my PA, and sometimes a wipe up is necessary, but it doesn't bother me.
