I've been thinking about getting a PA for a few years now. I've always thought they looked hot, but like many of us, I was hesitant about getting a piercing in such a sensitive and important part of my body. The PA was my first body modification, but perhaps not my last. So, I have been reading accounts of others that have PA's and I have been chatting with guys online to find out about their experiences. Over the past six months or so I have been really seriously considering finally getting my PA. Then a couple months ago, a friend of mine got both nipples pierced and a PA. That was the first time I had the opportunity to see and play with one up close and personal. It was really cool. So I was probably now about 90% convinced that I would go ahead and get one done. However, you know how easy it can be to put off such things. Finally, I met a guy online who lives near me, who had recently gotten a PA. He loved it and was very encouraging. Even more important tha n the encouragement was his recommendation of an artist to do the piercing. He recommended Rich at Adornment Deluxe in Berkley, MI, outside Detroit. I checked our their web site, www.adornmentdeluxe.com and the it looked alright to me. So I called them up, ready to take the plunge. I was hoping I would be able to get right in and have it done that day. Unfortunately, Rich was out for a week. They kindly recommended another piercer in the area if I did not want to wait. However, since Rich had come highly recommended, I thought I could wait one more week. Well, I waited a week and went to visit the studio in person for the first time. I was really impressed. The studio was spacious, stylishly decorated in black and red (they seem somehow appropriate). Rich was in the back consulting with a client, but his partner was very gracious in showing me around. We discussed jewelry, and I looked at the various options. She gave me aftercare suggestions, and reviewed them with me. She showed me some pictures of Rich's work. The studio onl y does piercings, which I thought was good. She went on to tell me about Rich's experience, and the other studios in the area where he had worked prior to opening his own studio. The whole experience really reinforced the recommendation I had received. So I scheduled an appointment for the following Friday, after work to get my PA.

I dreamt about getting my PA several nights that week. I told one of my best friends who I also work with about my decision to get a PA. He was intrigued. He thought they were cool, but was not sure he would be brave enough to ever get one. However, he did ask to see it as soon as I got mine. I chatted with a few guys about it some more. Almost everyone was encouraging. It wasn't until Thursday night and Friday when a little bit of anxiousness crept in along with the anticipation. I steeled my nerves, because I was committed to finally getting the PA. My friend at work checked in with me a few times on Friday to make sure I was still going. I had some trouble focusing on work that afternoon. Finally it was time to leave and go to the studio. Of course it was snowing like crazy, and traffic was a mess. I got about half way to the studio, when I realized I had left my drivers license at home. I knew they would ne ed it for identification, so I had to swing home and pick it up. I arrived a few minutes late, but they were very relaxed when I arrived.
She walked me through the paperwork, confirming jewelry, quizzing me on aftercare, etc. while Rich prepared the piercing room. When she had finished getting ready, she reviewed everything with Rich and then he was ready for me to go back. Rich was extremely professional, and very easy to talk to. He put me totally at easy all through the process. He made sure all my questions were answered and then we were ready to get started. I dropped my pants and sat down on the table, then lied down. Rich talked through with me every step as he proceeded. First cleaning, then marking. He showed me where he was going to pierce and explained why he had chosen that spot. He measured to make the final selection on the size of the jewelry. I had selected a circular barbell, 10 gauge, but he needed to select the size of the ring. He was then ready to go. So he inserted the tube into my dick. It was a bit uncomfortable, but not too bad. When he was ready to pierce, he asked me to take a deep breath, and then exhale. Then, he did it, a sharp poke for just a second and it was done. I guess I didn't exhale, because he joked "or you can just hold your breath if that works for you". The quickly inserted the jewelry and cleaned me up. Then I got to take my first look at my new PA, my first piercing, and it looked great. I was really happy! He had a neat way to get me ready to go, he wrapped it up with some gauze, then put a latex glove over it with a rubber band to hold it on. A neat way to avoid getting any blood on my clothes. I pulled up my pants and got ready to go. While I was getting ready, he reviewed again aftercare suggestions. He gave me the marker he had used on me as a souvenir. I thought that was a nice touch, plus it really showed how careful he is about any contamination between patients. They gave me a package with some soap and some salt to get me started with my aftercare and I was on my way. I was so impressed with Rich, an d everyone at Adornment Deluxe, I couldn't possibly give then a high e nough recommendation.
I went out and had some dinner and stopped by my favorite watering hole for a few drinks to celebrate. I ran into my friend from work there. I probably wore him out talking about it, but I was pretty happy. So I am only 18 hours in, but very happy with the results. It looks great, and really is not very sore at all. It has bled a little a few times, but it sure seems that in a few days it will be in great shape. Like so many guys before, but I'll say it again, I should have done it sooner. But I'm really happy with my new PA. I can't wait for it to fully heal, so I can really start to enjoy it completely.
