First I'd like to give a bit of information about myself. The only other piercing I had was an ear piercing back in college, and I even didn't care to keep it for longer than six months. I work at a small company doing software support and I like to hang out at the beach when I'm not at the office. I first thought about a genital piercing during a conversation my girlfriend of two years and I were having, the thought crossed my mind but I thought nothing of it. A couple weeks later I was surfing the web and started to do some research among the various genital piercings, I soon found myself intrigued by the concept.

After telling my girlfriend that I decided to get a Prince Albert she was rather surprised, considering I could be classified as rather "clean cut" with no tattoos. I then proceeded to research studios in the Los Angeles area since I didn't want just anyone poking a hole through the head of my penis, would you? I decided to have Thirteen BC perform the piercing, they supposedly had a couple of the piercers from the now shut down but famed Gauntlet piercing studio. As my appointment date approached my girlfriend decided to go with me and get a vertical hood, I guess she didn't want to be left out of all the fun ;) Naturally I was a bit apprehensive, it's not a pleasant mental picture of having a hole made through one's most sensitive appendage.
I must say when I arrived at the studio I was pretty nervous. I've read people's experiences on this site which helped a lot, but you still don't know what to 'really' expect if you know what I mean...just a natural human reaction I guess. My piercers name was Kenny, and I've already heard through this web site that he was good. He explained everything and made me feel rather comfortable, you can tell he had done this hundreds of times before by the routine way he went through the procedures. He was going to pierce me with a 3/4" diameter 10ga circular barbell. The actual piercing didn't hurt that bad at all, not as bad as I expected it to. Just one little prick and it was over. He wrapped the glove with gauze around my member and sent me on my way. I did feel nauseous immediately after the piercing, I had to sit down. I believe it may have been due to the fact that I realized a hole has been made in the last place I'd think I'd ever want one. My girlfriend and the piercer both said I looked green in the face. But one cold drink later and I was just dandy.
I initially was afraid to urinate, fearing it may cause pain...but it actually felt good to urinate. The thing I like about the PA piercing is that urinating helps keep the piercing clean and helps disinfect it. I bled for the first two days and just kept sterile gauze gently taped around the pierced area, after that I didn't have anymore bleeding. I feel it's very important to do the sea salt soaks along with using a suitable cleaning solution. I really like using the Satin cleaning soap that I bought online, it doesn't seem to be very harsh like most soaps and it did the job well. I started having sex (gently) a couple weeks later. I used a condom for the first three weeks. I probably should of waited longer because I did feel some discomfort during sex for the first few weeks. I'd say I was fully healed about two months later, maybe a touch sooner. The more it healed the better the piercing and sex felt.
It's now six months later and I absolutely love my PA piercing, I don't see myself getting rid of it anytime soon. Now that it's all healed up my orgasms seem more intense, and I like the feeling of the jewelry when t moves around. I can bring myself to orgasm just by swinging the piercing back and forth. My girlfriend says she can fell it a bit, but she prefers clitoral stimulation so I didn't expect it to have a dramatic effect on her. Just yesterday I went in to Thirteen BC and moved up to an 8ga piercing of the same diameter and style. I haven't had a chance to take it for a test drive but I can tell I like the sensation a bit more already. Hopefully my girlfriend will enjoy its increased mass a bit more also. So for those debating it, I say you won't regret it. Just find a quality piercing studio and take the plunge...you'll thank yourself later :)
