I decided last week to get a Prince Albert piercing, I had been thinking about it for some time, and my boyfriend had just left town for three weeks (going home to visit his fam), so I took the opportunity to get a solid three weeks of healing before he returned. I'm friends with the artist who did the work, I didn't state his name or his studio becuase I don't want this to reflect poorly on his work. He's super professional and does great work, and I take the blame for what happened. If you're in Savannah, I'd highly recommend him, so just email me and I'll tell you how to get ahold of him..
At A Glance Author rezin Contact rezin@bme.anon When A week ago Artist anon Studio anon Location southeast usa I was pierced with a 12g 3/4" dia. surgical stainless captive bead ring. Standard starter-wear for a Prince Albert. I intend to move to at least a 10g or 8g curved barbell once my initial healing period is over.
I got it done a week ago, and all was healing well. Saline soak and a wash in the morning, saline soak in the afternoon, saline soak and wash before bed. But something strange was happening. It would do fine during the day, crusting like normal, healing nicely. But when I'd wake up the next morning, the piercing's entry point on my frenum and my urethra would be severely sore, and the entry point would be bloody. The right side of the entry point was becoming very red and swollen, and the ring seemed to be migrating up and to the right.
I determiined that the ring was ill fitted, and while I was getting an erection in my sleep (which happens every 45 minutes or so in the average adult male), it was pulling violently on the entry point and my urethra, gradually bringing the ring closer to the right edge of my frenum, while digging uncomfortable into my urethra.
I had thought that I had made sure that the jewelry fit well when erect, but erections are a variable thing, and my "particular anatomy" tends to grow more dramatically than average when aroused, and I determined that I just hadn't gotten a high-quality erection while I was awake, mostly due to my initial fear that it would start bleeding again if I did.
After nearly a week of resisting, I finally caved and decided to masturbate. Everything was going fine until I was fully aroused. I had a raging hard-on for the first time since the piercing, and the jewelry started digging very uncomfortably into my urethra and the piercing's entry point on my frenum. I freaked out, it seemed like I could see the jewelery through the skin on the right side of my frenum. I immediately (well, after washing up, of course), headed over to the studio to talk to my piercer. He agreed that the ring was too small, and we moved up to 7/8" dia. captive bead ring. I had to go to work right after the resizing, so I didn't have time to test it out. My frenum was still sore on the right side, and was seeping blood, and what looked like puss.At the end of the night at work, I went to the bathroom to check everything out. To my horror the ring was covered in what looked like puss near the entry point. The spot of skin on the right side of my frenum that had been inflamed now had a small hole in it. I freaked the hell out. I could see the ring through a small hole just below the entry point where my frenum met my shaft. I regained my composure, cleaned area and asked to leave work early. It was quite late when I got home, so I couldn't consult my piercer. I cleansed the area, wrapped it securely and went to bed, hoping for the best, but fearing the worst.
This morning, everything seems a.o.k. The piercing was not at all sore, the skin on the right side of frenum was no longer red or swollen, there was neither blood nor puss at the entry point or the new hole. The skin around the new hole seemed shrunked and abit dry right at the opening. A normal crust seemed to be developing, but I noticed there was very little skin between the top of the new hole and the entry point of my Prince Albert. I did my morning cleaning ritual, wrapped up, and headed off to work. In the middle of my shift, I felt a funny pinch in the general vicinity of my piercing. It wasn't painful, just strainge. I went to the bathroom, and sure enough, the skin tiny bit of skin separating the entry point and the new hole had broken entirely. There was no blood or puss, just the normal crust, no pain or signs of infection. Everything seems cool so far.
The hole is abit larger now than it was, and I can actually look inside the piercing. It looks good, everything seems to have healed well. There are two funny little nubs of skin where the new hole used to be, it doesn't seem to have any negative effect, except that my ring kind of hangs to the right now.
Here's a picture, can the little nubs are all that's left of the hole, and all seems normal now. http://homepage.mac.com/scadboy/ouch.jpg
To anyone who just got a PA, or is thinking about it. Do your best to get a raging hard-on the first night you have it in, so you can observe it. You need to make sure the ring is the right size as soon as you can, so you can avoid getting an extra hole, like me.
