Doing a random internet search on PA piercings, I stumbled upon this forum and felt compelled to add my two cents.

My experience happened in May of 2001. My girlfriend and I both have birthdays in May (20 days apart), and since we had just been together almost a year we figured our gifts would be extra special. I surprised her with a diamond ring. When she asked for suggestions, I let her know that I too wanted a ring...just not on my finger. She called Steel Sanctuary, made the appointment, and all was set.

In the week leading up to the piercing, I would swing from excited to panicked at any given moment. A PA was something I'd always wanted, yet never had due to fear/finances. Now there was nothing holding me back but fear itself.

Finally, the day came and a girlfriend drove us to Windsor. Since I live in a small town, I have to go out of town to get piercings done. One thing I always associate piercings with are the interesting road trips I have on the way to get them. I've never had a boring car ride, and the piercing is always the topper to a good trip. This time, however, we took the backroads at a slow pace and ended up running late. By the time we arrived in Windsor and located the shop, I was half-an-hour late.

Once we walked into Steel Sanctuary, my fears were put to rest. I was initially teased, as the staff had speculated that I had backed out. The facility itself is very cozy and sterile, yet doesn't leave you feeling cold . It was almost like having the procedure done in your very own living room. My girlfriend accompanied me, acting as my "cheerleader" and holding my hand.

As for the piercer, Ali, she is extremely friendly and professional, and I would recommend her to anyone who is considering a piercing (I will definitely be going back in the future). She made me feel totally at ease, which I found amazing considering it's not everyday that I whip my penis out in front of a complete stranger (though I heard it can be fun!)

Now to comment on the experience itself, it was definitely unique. I closed my eyes and tried to breathe deep. Then there was a quick, intense pain and when it reached the peak where I thought I'd yell...it was over. As with other piercings and brands I've had done, the pain subsided and was replaced with a nice, floaty feeling that made the whole experience worthwhile. My enjoyment of piercings comes from the high of fear leading in to the procedure, followed by the high of overcoming the fear, to be in control.

After I was pierced, I didn't shed a drop of blood. However, the next morning I woke up to underwear soaked in blood (despite wearing the recommended panty liner) The second day, the bleeding was so profuse that I had to throw in a maxi pad, which branded the handle "Max" upon my being. It was around this time that the burning urination started, and I would bend my member at all angles just to take a piss without screaming. This, along with the bleeding, was shortlived. I carefully cleaned the wound every day and never had any further problems.

The only other obstacle of note was sexual relations. I was terrified of having my first erection, and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived and nothing happened. I took things slow, and masturbated quite frequently to get used to the feeling of the jewelry. The first thing I noticed was how pleasureable the orgasms were.

As to sex with my girlfriend, that took some work. The first few times we attempted to have intercourse, I would experience pain when I attempted penetration. This lasted about 2-3 weeks, and at the time I thought I'd never be able to have sex again. Then the day came when it finally happened, and my girlfriend immediately noticed a difference, and enjoys the added stimulation of the ring. I eventually plan to purchase a barbell.

To those of you thinking about getting a PA, it's an experience that cannot be accurately described, as it's different for everyone. But don't be put off by reading the side effects. I've never regretted getting my PA, and the short-lived pain afterwards was totally worth the pleasure I receive from it now. If you work up the nerve (and the cash) for a PA, by all means do it. You'll be glad you did.

As of now, I'm working on stretching (I'm at a 10 gauge), and want to start a frenum ladder. If anyone has any good stretching tips, feel free to drop me a line.
