OK...first off, if you want to read about my experiences getting a PA done, check out "Piercing novice takes the plunge for free" some ways down on the experience list. This one is mostly about my first ever stretching experience.

After getting the PA done, my next piercings were the conch of my left ear, my tongue, and the helix and a second lobe piercing on my right ear. The helix was the last one I got done, and then I found myself in a situation. I was getting "the urge" (you know damn well what I'm talking about) again, but I couldn't get anything done. I'm in rehearsals right now for a local theatrical production, and I can't get any new piercings done due to the fact that I wouldn't be able to heal one before I'd have to take it out every night for the performance. I got the helix done right on the wire...six weeks before the show opens (Incidentally, that was about three weeks ago).

So, of course, I find myself with my friend and piercing enabler Allison, the girl who paid for the PA in the first place, and we're at Trilogy once again. She decides to get a second industrial in her left ear, parallel to the one that was there already. She has plans to get a third in the same fashion, and she was very pleased with the result. Allison, Michael and I talked for a while while he mopped up the blood from her 26th and 27th piercings (she claimed to have never bled before (I sure am using parentheses a lot.)) Finally, we were on our way back to my car when I realized I could get something done I'd thought about doing for a while...stretch the PA! Whoo! Slap-your-momma fun!!!

I go back in, tell Michael what I want to do, and wait for him to get through the line that formed while Allison was getting pierced. (Not only am I using craploads of parentheses, but now I'm switching verb tenses. My high school English teachers wouldn't be pleased.) When it was my turn, I wander into the piercing room as Michael closed the door. I was in a much calmer mood than when I first got it done, but I still had that feeling of "my life has taken a turn for the weirder" as I dropped my pants to sit on the edge of the chair. Michael had laid out the tools to stretch to 8g and then to 6g, if I decided I wanted to go that far. He said that since I got it done at a 10g and that area of the body stretches easily, it wouldn't be a problem to go up 2 sizes in one sitting if I wanted to. I had also waited about 4 months since getting it done on the recommendation of Inger, another Trilogy piercer (she did my roommate's hood, 10 bonus points for you if you can find her experience on here).

Before all this, Michael asked me if I had any specific jewelry ideas. I decided on a circular barbell to replace the CBR that was in it. When he started, Michael took the CBR out, and he handed it back to me after the entire thing was over. I laid back in the chair, and he got to work. I'm sorry to say that I can't actually watch as he shoves metal through my penis, but I was much calmer than before. I felt a slightly uncomfortable sensation as he slid the taper through, though I didn't realize that the stretching would take as little time as it did, because before I had time to get worried that any actual pain would occur, Michael said "Okay, that's eight. Wanna try for six?" I decided to stay at 8g for now.

The rest of the procedure was no more uncomfortable. A few quick feelings of being pinched as he switched the taper for the jewelry (an 8g circular SS barbell with internal threading, for all you curious people and paretheses fans), and that was it. I looked down at the new jewelry and decided I was even more of a badass than before. I loved the way it looked.

So, conclusions: first stretching, positive experience. Future stretches, definately possible. Future piercings, most definately. Future parentheses in future BME experience posts, inevitable. Just to remind you, if you're in the Memphis area, stop by Trilogy and have a visit with Michael. Be sure to get one of his kickass new business cards while you're there. Any personal questions, feel free to email me, your parenthetical friend.
