Well, I must admit that my story has its similarities and differences from those I've read here.

In the summer of '99, right around my birthday I guess, I decided on a new piercing.

I'd already had 4 tattoos, both nipples, and 11 earrings (now removed due to infection).

It was a whim that I jumped on, and I ran with it.

I set off for my favorite studio, Body Exotic, and they recognized me from my growing collection.

Body Exotic was/is a medium sized studio right off of 880 in San Jose, CA. As above, I'd gone to them before for my nipples, which they handled perfectly. I went back to have them stretched, but am quite happy with the 10g CBRs in there right now.

I was very comfortable with the piercers and the owner (also the main genital/hardcore piercer).

The little "Now Fainting" meter on the wall kept everything light hearted, while the x-ray of someone who'd swallowed their tongue-bar reminded people that this was still serious business.

While a bit crotchety, Bill's a big teddy bear who has been very active in the California piercing scene. He's responsible for many laws concerning body modification that are on the Cali. books to this day.

I had to make an appointment with the owner, Bill, as this wasn't a job for the junior piercers.

Walking in and settling down, I was reassured by the constant cleanliness of the place and quick service.

I laid back on the table, dropped my shorts to my ankles and stretched out.

As I'm quite comfortable with my body, this was rather easy. At least until he stuck a q-tip covered with a numbing gel into the urethra. This burned quite a great deal, but was worth it in the end.

Bill efficiently dotted the glans, after moving aside the frenulum (I guess I'm one of the few men who have one of these).

Placing the needle tube, it was over in a few seconds.

My experience at this point, the actual piercing, was different from some descriptions. There was only one needle, followed by a standard stainless 10g CBR.

I guess he hit something tender, as it was bloodier than all get out. Unfortunately, I chose to get pierced right before going to work. DON'T ever do this kids! It's a source of amusement to me now, but it was hideously embarrassing at the time.

The jewelry, going back to the story, was a 10 gauge CBR, and I was told to turn it and keep it very clean, as well as using anti-bacterial soap at every opportunity.

If you're the type that bleeds easily, I highly recommend that you carry at least one or two clean sets of clothing. You can also wrap it lightly, but this gets rather tedious when a call of nature arises.

Over the next three days, the bleeding stopped. I could'nt resist trying to 'enjoy' myself. Yet another mistake. It immediately reopened the wound and started bleeding again. Talk about a mood-kill.

During the initial period, please please please be careful. You've got a new hole in your body. In a part of your body that typically goes in other people's *ahem* naughty parts. This is something that must be accounted for when considering a genital piercing.

You can't really go at it like gangbusters for about a month and a half. After it's healed, though, it's very rewarding and can be quite an experience. I will recommend a PA to anyone considering body modification, but I will advise caution and sanity.

I waited the proscribed 4 weeks before trying anything, then another two weeks of using a condom with my mate.

After 9 or so weeks, I changed out the CBR for a semi-circular 10g.

This pinched quite a bit and was more quickly traded for a 10g curved bar. This proved quite nice for all uses, a little irritating that I now had to sit down to piss, but otherwise it was all good.

About 2 more months and I decided to stretch to an 8g curved bar. This lasted about a week, during which I suffered. I thought that by going to a bar with larger end-balls, it would slip in/out less. Instead, it just chafed and hurt.

I went back to the previous 10g curved bar rather gratefully.

During the next months until yesterday, it caused me no problems whatsoever. The occasional slip during sex and the 'sitting down to piss' were just acceptable casualties in the whim.

I finally grew tired of it and took it out. At this time, the hole's still there but I doubt I'll fill it.

I guess I'll wait a while, then get the piercing I really want. A double Hefada. I'll write back then.

Happily Pierced in CA.
