Last December while surfing the net for tattoos and piercing, I came on to your web site. At first I was surprised but soon became facinated with the articles and the pictures. Having 5 tattos already, piercing was beginning to look like the next logical step. Since 3 of my tattoos are already below my beltline, the even more logical step was a genital piercing. While reading all the experiences I decided that a PA was going to be my goal. Before coming on to BME, I had never even seen a genital piercing of any kind. I sure got educated fast.

With the goal in mind, the search began using the information that I had gathered on BME. One of my first stops brought me to a young girl who didn't have a very good selection of jewelry and insisted that my PA be done in 14 guage. From the experiences on BME, most people were recommending at least 12 guage for the initial PA. I called around and finally got Barbara at Artful Ink who seemed very knowledgeable on the phone and was free that afternoon. So on that mid March Saturday I headed out for Bohemia with my PA in mind. By the time I got to the shop I was a wreck from nerves. As soon as I met Barbara she put me right at ease and told me that she had one of the best reputations on L.I. and been piercing for over 5 years. While she set up for the deed another girl brought out the papers to fill out and I could barely write. When we moved to the back room I was seated in a dentists chair and the preparations began. Down came the pants and underwear as Barbara gloved up and brought out the sterile tools and jewelry. As she measured and marked the spot, she suggested that we go with the 12 guage 3/4" CBR in SSS. At this point I probably would have agreed to anything. Once the mark was made on the underside she asked me to lay back in the chair. She regloved at this point and spread sterile towels all around for the next step. Barbara now inserted the receiving tube and warned that it might sting somewhat. She said that some people find that very uncomfortable. Not so, so its on with the show. The next thing sh did was ask me to take 3 deep breaths and halfway through the second I felt a very sharp stick in my dick. I remember saying to her that it wasn't anywhere as bad as I had expected and to my surprise she had already inserted the jewelry and was putting the ball in. At this point she invited me to have the first look and it was really cool. Now my dick decided toget hard from all the excitement and Barbara told me to relax so the hardon would subside. It bled a little now and after the hardon went away, the bleeding stopped and I was blown away from looking at it. Better than I expected. While Barbara cleaned up I just leaned back and njoyed the rush. barbara came back and wrapped willy up in gauze pads and we put him away. I paid up, thanked her and walked out of the shop on cloud 9. All the while the only pain I actually felt was the actual piercing. With the aftercare instructions in hand that Barbara had explained, it was off to get supplies.

Driving was no problem and walking was no problem and I was still amazed that I had gone through with the PA. It's certainly a fun secret to be hiding. Once in the drug store it was time for pads,betadine,anti-bacterial soap, and epsom salts(sea salts were nowhere to be found. By the time I got home there was some blood soaking through the front of my sweatpants. I got nervous again but was relieved to find that willy wasn't actively bleeding but just oozing a little bit. Chnaged my underwear and pants and waited for the first pee. About 2 hours later it was time and I wasn't sure what to expect. The pad was clean and I sat down to pee and no pain at all, probably 3 drops of blood came out and it was time for the first washing. No problem it went like clockwork. That night I decided would not be good for a couple of beers, only making me have to piss more than necessary. I sat and watched TV for the night and went to bed early. The first nights sleep was not good because every move you are afraid to bang the ring. When I got up the next morning there was some blood on my underwear but the pad was the big saver. The first shower was kind of awkward and willy started to bleed but only about 10 or 15 drops then stopped. That was the only occasion that I had more than 2 drops in thw whole healing process. I had expected bleeding for 3 days and was pleasantly surprised. The next few days consisted of washings and being very careful not to bang into anything. There was some pain sitting down fast but not any constant pain, just a little discomfort for about 2 weeks. By week 6 he was pretty well healed up with some crusties once and a while, but I credit the washings, the betadine, and the epsom salt soaks once a day worked wonders.

At week 8, I declared my PA completely healed and was now planning steping up to 10 guage jewelry. I also wanted to be able using curved barbells for a change. I hit a couple of places looking for jewelry but nobody even had 12 guage barbells. I really didn't want to do mail order but I should have. That night i took the CBR out and that turned out to be my biggest mistake. The jewelry came out ok but thr next morning the piercing had completely healed over. I was distraught and couldn't believe this had happened. There was not much I could do once the damage was done, but maybe somebody will learn from my experience. The PA was great while I had it and I plan on getting it redone soon. All I can say is if you want it go for it because it is really great. Don't take out the jewelry too soon and have something to put in right away.
