Day 1
Well, I have made my appointment to get pierced and I am on my way to Steve's Tattoo in Madison, WI. I just had minor dental work this morning at 9:00AM and I am on antibiotics for 10 days. This is a perfect time to get a piercing, I think. My fears about infections are gone since I am on antibiotics already. I have also started taking vitamins (multi, C, E, Calcium/Zinc/Iron) a week prior to help my body with its own healing power.My appointment is at 1:00. I arrive at the shop about 30 min early. My stomach is tight with anticipation. I feel anxious, reluctant, hesitant, aroused, erotic, powerful, triumphant. I can't believe that I am almost 32 years old, conservative, and I am going to get my penis pierced. This is my first body modification. I have no other piercings or tattoos. I think this will be a turning point in my life!
I arrive at the shop at wait for Derek Lowe. I had previously read the rec.arts.bodyart FAQ and many good comments were made about Derek and his work. From this research, I decided to meet with Derek about 2 weeks earlier to check out the shop and discuss a Prince Albert (PA) with him. He looked at my penis and evaluated me for the PA. Although it was a huge step to even go into the shop and then to whip out my dick for another guy that I had never met to see.Well, I'm back in the shop now and there is Derek. He has just finished a navel piercing. I fill out the legal paperwork then we go downstairs to his piercing room. Which during my previous visit I found to be very neat and clean, exactly like a doctor's office.
He sits me on the couch outside his office, and we discuss aftercare and what to expect. He goes upstairs to wash up and then we enter the room.
He asks me if I still want a curved barbell as discussed and I say yes but would like a CBR in the future. He tells me this is the moment of truth and that he needs access to the area and he will leave the room while I disrobe. I remove my jeans and Calvin's and hop up on the table. He knocks and returns. He is chatting with me making me feel conformable when my cell phone rings. I know that it must be someone from work because they are the only ones that know I have my phone with me. I answer and it is a co- worker. She asks what I am doing, I thought it best not to respond "sitting here with my dick hanging out waiting for some guy to stick a needle in it " so I told her I was at the mall. Anyway, I answer her question and hang up. Derek asks me if I want a hand mirror to watch. I say yes and tell him that needles do not upset me. He gloves up and looks at my penis. He marks where he wants to pierce, evaluates it and remarks, and then remarks again. This makes me feel conformable that he would take the time to get it just right, vice just marking once and doing it.
Now he tells me he is going to prep my penis and do it. I say lets go..I'm prepped and he lubes the receiving tube and inserts it into my urethra, I thought it would hurt, but it does not, just a slight tingle every now and then as he works it deeper. He adjusts the receiving tube and gets it just right. I feel a slight pinching. I have been watching with the mirror this whole time, but as he reached for the needle, which is much larger than I expected, I put the mirror down and breath. Derek tells me to focus on my breathing and here we go. A big sharp pain for about 1/2 sec then it is all over. WOW, I expected much more pain. I grab the mirror and look at my penis head with a large needle stuck in it, exciting. I am also surprised at the lack of blood. There is more blood when I cut myself shaving (well not really but only about 4 drops of blood on the head of my penis). He inserts the barbell and then decides to use a longer barbell, (oh sure, now I have a barbell in my dick and he wants to change it out for another one). He makes the change, and I am still surprised that there is no pain. We have decided to place a larger ball on the top to prevent the barbell from sliding into my urethra. The bottom ball, I tell him, leave the smaller size. He works to screw on the top ball and drops the ball between my legs. He gets another and its done. A small pinch of skin when he tightens the balls onto the barbell then its over.
A paper towel is wrapped around my penis and his glove is removed around my penis and secured with 2 rubberbands. I'm all set. I put on my Calvin's and jeans and confess again the I am surprised that there is no pain. I hope the no pain lasts all weekend. We go upstairs, I pay and buy some Provone soap and sea salt and I'm on my way. I drive back home.
I strip off my jeans and Calvin's and wash my hands with
antibacterial soap, as instructed, prior to changing my
"glove". I have previously purchased some gauze and non-
lube condoms to contain any bleeding I might have. But with
the way it did not bleed in the shop I think no problem.
I remove the glove and notice the paper towel has about a half dollar size blood stain on it. I remove the paper towel and notice a pea size blood clot on the towel. Then while wrapping the p-towel in the glove I feel blood drop onto my leg. I guess the clot was removed with the p-towel and now I am bleeding. Damn! I place gauze on my fresh piercing and then unroll a condom onto my penis. I put on some Hanes briefs which I have bought especially for this because I read that you want snug briefs to hold you penis and keep it from moving around too much. I put on a tee and some shorts and it's off to the couch to watch TV for the night.
It is now 5:00 PM and I really have to piss. But I don't want to because I think it will burn a lot and dislodge any clot I may have. I am going to have to go soon.
5:42pm, I am going to pee. Derek said that it may feel better if I pee into a large Macdonalds type cup full of warm water. Think I will try that. Wish me luck.
5:57pm, All that work up for nothing. I removed the gauze and condom and placed my penis into the cup of warm water and slowly let my urine flow. After about 3 sec of flow I felt a small tingle that went away in about 2 sec. So I removed the cup and just pee'd regularly. Wow, I still can't believe the lack of pain. I guess I will survive. I think that if I make it through the night with my nocturnal erections that I will be OK. I'm loving this. My piss did not spray all over like I thought either. Afterwards I put on new gauze and condom and good to go.
9:27pm, just got done with my first cleaning. I had to piss and know that I could not wait till bedtime when I was going to do my cleaning so I decided to clean now. I was very leery about putting soap on my fresh piercing then rubbing that soap into the opening, but for the most part it went well. Still blood on my gauze, but not much. About 1/4 less than last changing. I made my sea salt soak and soaked for about 4 min then sat on the edge of the tub and turned on the shower. I washed my hands then put soap on the piercing. I gingerly moved the barbell around. Slight discomfort, but still not what I was expecting. I don't think I moved it enough, but I though good enough for the first time. Let the soap sit about 2 min then rinsed, and urinated. No pain what so ever when I pissed. So far so good. I lightly put gauze on the piercing, but did not cover with the condom, thinking that some air might be good for the healing. I'll re-gauze and condom before bed.
10:41PM, bedtime. Will change dressing and place on condom and hope the night goes well.
Day 2
3:30 AM, wake up with an erection. Not painful but uncomfortable. Like a pressure on the head of my penis. I drift off and on into sleep, tossing and turning, just no able to position my body right. This is most likely because I sleep on my stomach.6:49AM, finally get out of bed. Have been awake in bed for at least an hour with the greatest hard-on I have had in a long time. My gauze is soaked in blood and the condom is bloody. Still not a ton of blood, about the same amount as if I had ejaculated into the condom. With most of the blood on the gauze. Well, it is time for my second cleaning. I was hoping that while I was prepping for the cleaning my erection would fade, but it is still there. I will wait for my erection to fade prior to cleaning.
7:43AM, done with my shower and the cleaning went well. I was able to work the barbell and soap in and out of the piercing much better today. And since I have been out of the shower I have no spotting on the gauze pad which I have lightly taped to the piercing. Looking good :-)
10:48AM, gauze still clean. I have had it lightly taped over the piercing this morning, letting air circulate around the piercing. Guess I'll piss and head out for the day.
12:40, had to go pee again, no problems, I read that your
urine will spray out with a piercing, but I have found just
the opposite. My urine stream is as straight as can be. I
think this is due to having a barbell vice a CBR. Well, I
have got some shopping to do, so I am off to the store.
Wearing a guaze, which I think I am about done with except
for sleeping, a condom and jeans. No problems so far. I am
so glad I decided to go through with this piercing.
However, if not for the "bedside" manor of Derek, I might
not have done it. Thanks Derek!
6:37PM, here it is my first full day after the piercing
9:00PM, going to do my nightly cleaning and get ready for
bed. Will gauze and condom for the night. 9:36PM, just got done cleaning. Just a small amount of discomfort this time. Always getting less and less. Not much to clean either. No blood clots like before. Also, during the cleaning I got aroused. I slowly stroked the head of my penis and was able to masturbate with out discomfort. Now this was not a full hand job or nothing, mind you. However, it was noted that semen does stick to the jewelry. I cleaned the piercing again, urinated, gauze, condom, and ready for bed.
Day 3
6:51AM, My erections during the night were not as uncomfortable. Just felt like a pinching or something. My gauze only had a light pink spot on it. I think my bleeding is for the most part over. Will clean up and still wear a gauze and condom when I go out until about 2 days after I stop spotting.8:50PM, Went to church, shopping and back home. Undid the gauze and condom when I returned home about 2:00pm and just wore boxers so the piercing could "breath". Just got done with a sea-salt soak and regular cleaning. So far I have not had any crusty discharge like was supposed to be normal. I hope that is good. I am not going to gauze and condom tonight. Will just wear my cotton briefs. I will probably spot them but that is why I bought them just to wear for this piercing. Although the gauze and condom secure the piercing while I sleep and prevent it from moving around too much, I will try this tonight because all day tomorrow I will be in gauze and condom, so the piercing will no "breath" until I get home. I will see how it goes..
Day 4
Not much to discuss today. Again some spotting over night. I decided to gauze and condom overnight. And then gauze and condom at work. When I got home I let the piercing breath. Tonight, regular cleaning and gauze over night.
Day 5
My spotting was heavier last night than the night before. I am wondering if I need a longer barbell. When I have an erection during the night, It pulls on the piercing. I will wait to see how it goes this week and maybe this weekend go get a longer barbell.I did not wear gauze or condom to work. Had almost no noticeable spotting. Great. Use the urinal at work to pee. No problems. I was hoping not to spray all over but my stream is straight and normal. Most likely due to the barbell and not having a CBR. Cleaning for the night was just a sea salt soak. Did not wear gauze to bed.
Day 6
No noticeable spotting when I woke up. Will not wear gauze to work.All fine at work. The piercing was uncomfortable at one point and when I checked it out the barbell had slid down my urethra and that was causing the discomfort. I really don't want a larger ball on the barbell so I will have to choose another kind of jewelry.
Normal cleaning tonight. Sleeping w/o gauze tonight and w/o briefs. Will wear boxers. Hopefully the freedom of movement will not hurt the piercing.
