I just got both of my nipples done today at New Age Body piercing in Coconut Grove Florida. I have been wanting the ladies done for a while but really wanted to make sure I was ready and also to find the right studio.

I grew up in the area and have received a couple ear piercings over the years at New Age and always loved the place. I am on vacation visiting my mom and decided it would be the perfect time to go. I did take a couple days to research nipple piercings and gain the nerve to go. So today was the day!
I have had a hard time finding a piercing shop in Boston that meets the standards of New Age. The shop is in Coconut Grove and has been there for years. They only do piercings, branding, and scarifications. The piercers are well experienced and do not mind answering any questions you have. I paid $90 even for both including the barbells and left a $10 tip.
Bleu was my piercer who was really sweet. The other piercer working was also present and answered all of my questions while Bleu prepped and pierced my nipples. I filled out my paperwork and waited while they prepped the room. They had both CBR and barbells in sanitized packing fresh from the autoclave. I went into the room and took off my top. I am far from modest but they had also yet to close the door/shades to the room...whoops. They found this humorous, and I had no qualms about being topless around strangers.
Anyway Bleu tweaked my nipples at little to see where to place them and also decided barbells would allow for easier healing since I am pretty busty. I really wanted barbells too but also wanted to ensure the best and quickest healing. They gave me the choice up front but frankly healing properly is more important than look.
He marked me and had the other piercer double check then had me lay down. The shop does not use clamps for any piercings to limit tissue damage and the pain factor. I was surprised at first but then again never recalled clamps being used on me there in the past. They had no problem justifying it either which I liked. He did an amazing and quick job and they look beautiful. I also did not bleed a lot which made me happy.
Now for the pain...I have a lot of ink, so my pain threshold I feel is higher than most people who have less body mods. I have read many nipple piercing stories on the site and really feel the amount of pain will vary with everyone. I realize now that no clamps also helped in my fairly pain free experience. I will admit I was sweating tremendously because I was nervous. I can handle pain but these are my ladies!
For me it was like someone pinched my nipple really hard. No extreme pain but a quick jerk. The thing that was not fun was the jewelry just because it felt like a second piercing. The second one felt the same, but he did not take a lot of time in between. After I was cleaned up I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of pain.
After the needle and jewelry were in place nothing else pain wise. None of the soreness or throbbing my other piercings have gone through. I am more aware of my nipples, but the after effect is not painful just interesting. For anyone who lives in cold climate, it is similar to having hard nipples on a cold day. Frankly for me my breasts have been in more pain during my menstrual cycle.
I have kept on a cotton no wire sports bra so the weight of my breasts doesn't add to any possible soreness, but they are also not under any unnatural fibers. I was terrified of losing sensation but anything I read spoke other wise and it was right. They are very sensitive now and I was informed would continue to be.
Besides everything else I raved about I was also impressed by their interest in my aftercare. They gave me a very detailed sheet and also spoke to a couple other things. They were out of the wound solution they used so I will be going back. Bleu also asked me to come by before I leave so he can check the healing progress. I have never had a piercer do that besides at New Age. I was so happy I went there and got them done. I have always been self-conscious about my size but for some reason knowing the nips are pierced makes me more confident. Like a secret treasure.
If you really want it done go for it, but do your research. And I also suggest going to a reputable shop you feel comfortable in. If you have a poorly trained piercer it could quickly go awry. Definitely ask questions about healing and all that jazz. There is a lot to know about this type of piercing. If you are in the Miami area definitely check out New Age for any type of piercing. Or if not I highly recommend a "clamp free" shop. No clamp helped with swelling and pain and they will also heal better.
